She had been in hospital for over 5 weeks, battling infection after infection as best her frail old body could fight.
R.I.P Jean. A good woman, a good mum, a good person. X

Sorry for your loss. It is always upsetting when you lose someone close to you. Think of her often, speak of her as if she is still around. Or if you cannot bear to do that then wait until the feelings of loss diminish and then you will be able to keep her memory alive again. It all helps you to cope.

I feel for you, MissAdventure. I lost mine almost 34 years ago and still find myself addressing questions and comments to her. Your mum sounds a wonderful lady and you will have very special memories.

MissAdventure and storynanny I am so sorry to hear of your sad news. My father died at the end of November 24 years ago and I could cry just now thinking about it. It does get less painful with time. Be kind to yourself and let other people be kind too, don't push them away like my Mum did.

So very sorry for your physical loss of your mother - but she will remain in your heart forever.

I still miss my mom, there is no one as special, but laugh and cry at the memories that you have.

I couldn't have asked for a better little tribute to all our mums. All loved and missed. Its such a comfort to know that others felt the loss every bit as keenly.. Its lovely to know this bought back some memories of their own mums, and the "mum shaped" hole they leave when they go x x

MissAdventure so sorry to hear of your loss flowers
I do hope she was very peaceful like my Mum was at the end.

It's a long time since my mother died, five years after my father and I suddenly realised that I was an orphan - even though I was grownup and a mother myself.

I lost my beloved Mum 2 years ago aged 98. I miss her so much although, as she said, even with all her blessings it was time to go home. I feel so much for you,
Miss Adventure, cherish your happy memories and she will live on through you.

So sorry for you on your sad loss. There is no one like your mum. I lost my dear mum nine years ago this month and it still hurts as much! Sending love and hugs xx

I'm so sorry to read of the death of your dear Mum. As someone who joined that club several years ago I know that you will have your sad moments but in time your memories will bring a smile to your face and you obviously have many happy memories to treasure. ?

So sorry for you. I see glimpses of my mum in my grandchildren.

I lost my Mom on the 24th November, after 4 weeks in hospital battling to come home
She also was a good woman
It was my 60th birthday 4 days later. My birthday cards and flowers arrived at the same time as the bereavement cards and flowers.
I miss her and I cannot believe she's gone.

A very sad time for you, especially at this time of year. Hard to do but it's important to make sure you put taking care of yourself on your "To Do" list. x

My deepest sympathies MissAdventure. What a lovely epitaph for her in your last sentence. She was obviously a Mum to be thankful for.
