My mum died this evening.

It's a bit of a shock as she was in the lounge on Sunday, chesty yesterday and given antibiotics, the gp called to check on her this afternoon but the home had already called the paramedics who decided she might benefit from going to hospital as she had been doing so well. She was unconscious by the time she got there.

Luckily, both my brothers and I were there with her and the doctors and nurses were brilliant both with mum and with us

flowers What a rollercoaster Kitty. What a lady! I'm glad you and your brother were both with her - she couldn't have had better children (((hugs)))

Goodness me, thank you all for your kind messages. And thank you to people who have pmed me.flowers

I posted last night because I needed to do something and it was too late to start doing phone calls, but I wasn't expecting that response.

As lots of you know, mum and her children, but me especially, have had a strange relationship. She caused a lot of trouble between my brothers and me. Looking after her over the past 10 years or so has brought us back together and, for that, I'm very grateful.

Not really sure how I feel but I'm in charge of organisation so I'm going to be busy.

It's a good thing you're in charge of organisation, it'll stop you over-thinking and your emotions are likely to be running riot when you're not looking! Take care of yourself. xx

Sad news Kitty flowers but I think you have sometimes brought a smile to our faces with some of your mum's 'antics', may she now be at peace. Take care.
