It's a bit of a shock as she was in the lounge on Sunday, chesty yesterday and given antibiotics, the gp called to check on her this afternoon but the home had already called the paramedics who decided she might benefit from going to hospital as she had been doing so well. She was unconscious by the time she got there.
Luckily, both my brothers and I were there with her and the doctors and nurses were brilliant both with mum and with us
Sorry to hear this Kitty. As others have said, even though you have been expecting this for some time, when the reality comes there are a lot of emotions to deal with. I know that, like Phoenix, your relationship with your mother was complex but it doesn't stop you feeling sadness. Glad you were able to be there. Thinking of you.
So sorry to hear your news kitty. I join all the other GNs in sending my love and condolences. Being busy organising everything will be good for you - it certainly helped me with the grieving and accepting process which follows the death of a loved one
kitty, my sympathy to you and your family. We have followed the ups and downs of your Mum's last few years and felt for you and your brother. Take care of yourself, kitty. You have been the best of daughters.
So sorry, Ana. What a shock - and however impending, the end is always a shock to those left behind. It must have been very comforting for you to have your brothers with you at the time. Hugs
Oh my kitty, I wasn't expecting that to be the first thread I saw when I switched on GN this morning My sincere condolences to you and your family.
Lovely to hear that despite all the difficulties in the system, the doctors and nurses had time to be brilliant with you all. Take care and know we are supporting you and yours during this difficult time
Kitty you've shared the story of you and your mum with us and I now feel that in a small way we're sharing your shock at losing her so suddenly. Sincere sympathy to you and your family.??
kitty I agree with TriciaF it was good that you were all with her and it would appear that she did not know a great deal about it. She is at rest nowPlease, please look after yourself, more
Sorry, only just seen this, Kitty. It will have still been a shock for you even after all your Mum's ups an downs. Look after yourself and don't over tire yourself with the arrangements.
