When my girl was seven she moved to junior school. St.Davids Day she put a leak into the classroom pet guinea pig's cage because all the boys had leaks , a ticking off from her teacher that it could have killed the guinea brought the indignant reply - no, it's a Welsh guinea pig. The summer holidays and she was chosen to bring home the guinea to care for, it was rather aged and yes it died in our care, not neglect , we had hamsters and gerbils. She was upset then cheered up and said we can buy one the same colourings , the guinea had three legs ! This was life with her.

Offered my Mass this morning for the repose of your dear daughter's soul,and two candles have been left burning. Your strength is inspirational Annie, God give you His today.

Annie your story of the guinea pig made me smile - the simplicity of the young. I've been thinking of you today as has everyone else. I hope at times it has been uplifting for you and your family with loving tributes to your daughter. I'm sure many tears will have flowed too but that helps the healing
