DD1 is visiting friends in the New Forest and as usual when she is there she checks on the family grave at Ringwood (DH’s grandparents, his parents and our baby son) and tidies it up as necessary. (We decided against it for DH so he is buried in the village churchyard here.)
She has just sent me a pic and reported that it is clean, tidy and peaceful and that has just knocked me sideways sadsadsad

There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t been said, sometimes things just give you a jolt, some days, even the happy good things can hurt. Thinking of you, and sending hugs, tea, and a big slice of cheesecake, never fails to make me feel better.

???? Grief is the price we pay for loving. Just when you think you are doing ok, something comes along and you feel as if you are back to square one in the grieving process. It can be a smell, a song, or just a moment!

Sending you love and hugs, hoping you will find a little thing today to make you smile.

It is all about love, Maw. Sometimes a good cry can be just what is needed. Be kind to yourself today. ???

Such random things remind us of our loved ones Maw but also sometimes happy memories as well.

Grief jumps out and hits you at the oddest times ,it can be a song or a piece of clothing or even just hearing a name in passing .the loss is always there. It doesn't go away we only learn to live with it.I hope you find peace in the coming days ,it will take time to process this grief and file it away.Until the next time.It becomes easier to do after time.

Our family grave is beside the path leading to the Church door , lots of people visit graves every Sunday after Mass , I can't bring myself to do more than glance at it of a Sunday , but don't feel as bad visiting to tidy on a quiet weekday

It's still early days Maw and you're still experiencing "first events" that aren't anticipated, but just knock the ground from under you when they occur. You have lots of flowers so I'll offer you a brew with me.

Grief has so many layers and facets. Things can just creep up and floor us unexpectedly, usually just when we thing we’re doing fine, we’ll as fine as we can be. More flowers from me x
