I have posted on soops kitchen but would just like to tell people who know me that my dear husband died very peacefully yesterday.

We had a very long marriage of 60 years although the last 7 or so years were marred by his dementia.
I was with him, holding his hand as he slipped away and I am very ,very grateful for that

I am so tired now but feel at peace with the decisions I made for his last few months .

So sorry to hear about your husband Annsixty You did everything possible for him right to the end. After 60 years you have so many happy memories to comfort you, the last few years are only a small part of the life and love you shared together.
God bless thanks

Oh Anne I'm so sorry. How lovely that you were together at the end, holding hands - so pleased that this was possible. Time for you now flowers

So sorry Anne, I doubt that knowing it was imminent helps one bit. The next few weeks will probably be taken up with sorting things out and then you will have to find a way to cope. In the short term I think that just keeping on keeping on is all you can do. flowers

How wonderful that you were together right up to the very end and thank goodness it was peaceful for your DH, bless him.

I know you've all been through such difficult times and I've been sad and angry to read what you've suffered (as no doubt we all have).

But in the end you were there and with him and that is all that matters. How lovely. flowers

My kindest thought to you now as you and the family face life in a new way.

Though I may go in Springtime, when all the buds are new, Think not, this is the ending, I'll always be with you

GrannyGravy13 Fri 19-Apr-19 09:23:36
