I've visited the War Memorial in Canberra. Magnificent and very moving. It'll always stay with me especially the overall amount of respect that was present by those who were visiting at the time.

My DGS has written a lovely poem for his Great-Grandads on this side of the family, neither of whom he met.

In Remembrance

There will be a service here too, and although the older people will not be able to attend, there are volunteers who will lay the wreaths on their behalf.

Thank you, I started a thread too, in remembrance.

Although there will not be the usual dawn services which my family attend, they were lisrening to the radio at 5.30 am with their poppies and sprig of rosemary for remembrance.

In the village where I grew up they had an Anzac cemetery and every year the Brownies, Scouts, etc. took daffodils to put on the graves. It was a lovely peaceful place.
