This was posted on Facebook in Rachel. (Phoenix ) ‘s memory this morning by her friend Hollie.
I thought those who knew. Phoenix and miss her but also all who are missing a loved one might like to share it

If Christmas is hard ,
If you’ve lost someone dear.
Just look in your heart,
And you’ll know they’re still here.

The star in the sky,
The light falling snow.
The robin outside,
It seems like they know.

If this is a time,
When you’re struggling through.
Just do what you can,
For what matters, is you.

There’s no need to be merry,
There’s no need to be bright.
Just do what you can,
It will all be all right

Lovely poem.
Christmas is hard for many people, including those of us widowed, after this one I think I will spend Christmas Day on my own. I have always painted the smile on and had fun, inside sometimes, although with family, felt I wanted to be on my own to remember, my husband who died at Christmas.

I'm busy cursing the gammon this afternoon, although at least the pan seems to be the right size! Impossible to do Christmas without thinking of phoenix smile

My gammon seems fine but I thought you might like this curse that Rachel penned for DD3's Idiot.

Lovely Poem.

I read on a FB post today that while someone's name is spoken a part of them lives on.

Phoenix, her wit and wisdom lives on in the memory so many GNers especially at this time of year when many of us identify with The Cursing of the Gammon.

Thank you Maw for the pome and for those who shared The Cursing of The Gammon.
