I am very sad to convey this news - my dear friend who posted on here as Purpledaffodil died on Friday. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2021.

It is always sad to lose a Gransnetter and equally worrying when one “disappears” and we have no way of contacting her or her family. I can think of one or two but won’t name them as it could seem tactless. Can only assume the worst, sadly. .
Maybe we should each of us (if we haven’t done so already) establish a link via email/mobile/WhatsApp or whatever with one other member ? (As some of us did with Phoenix)

Thanks again, everyone.

I think it is worth mentioning here - I know (knew) three people with this diagnosis in the past year. Two of them have sadly died. The other one is my neighbour, who is 56 with four young adult children. All three were initially misdiagnosed at GP level. Pancreatic cancer is underfunded regarding research, and the UK national charity (Pancreatic Cancer UK) recently campaigned for it to be added to the Government's Major Illnesses list.
