Over the festive season we love nothing more than curling up with a good book and a box of mince pie or two. And this year there are some VERY good books indeed. So we asked all the publishers we work with to nominate one of their favourite reads to enjoy this Christmas. And here they all are in one handy list.

Better still - one lucky gransnetter can win the ENTIRE lot. Yup - that's every book featured on the page. Worth more than £500. In our book (no pun intended) that's a pretty fine haul at any time of year - and absolutely perfect for Christmas.

We just want to know where you like reading. Your answers will be put into the very large hat and a draw (made at random) will take place at midday on Weds 10 December - so the winner will receive their prize in plenty of time for the big day. All the details on the page

My favourite place to read is a sheltered bench beneath the cliff walk by the beach. Sometimes there is glorious sunshine and always a fabulous view.
Best of all, the bench has my name on it. Honest!! Makes me feel rather special. :-)

I like reading in bed, nice and snug and warm, trouble is if I get hooked, I dont close it again till its finished so I can wave goodbye to a good nights kip!

My favourite place to curl up with a book is in a quiet corner of my local library. The children are off happily in the children's section with Dad and I get a little piece of heaven in my mad busy days!

In the now lost past in a house my parents had in Ireland with a great view of the sea, in stormy weather, with the fire lit..

These days, in winter, on a sofa backed up against a radiator, and of course in bed, under a duvet, also.

I like to read in different places. In the spring I like to sit in the conservatory when the sun shines. In the summer I like to sit outside on the decking it the shade. In the autumn its back to the conservatory or my big chair in the lounge. In the winter its an early night to bed with a hot cup of Horlicks and lots of cushions.

I have a rocking chair in the bay window of my bedroom, with a great view. I love to curl up in it and read.

I love to read anywhere and everywhere but my favourite has to be curled up in front of an open fire on my favourite chair.

My favourite place to read, is curled up on the couch with my two dogs: one usually on my lap, and the other keeping my feet nice and warm!

Indoors, lazing on the chaise longue. No TV or radio, just me and my book interrupted at regular intervals by my old wrinkled retainer (hubby) who brings me tea. grin

My favourite place to read is in bed. If I read in the garden I get distracted by the birds, by the trees and flowers looking so beautiful and by the need to get up and do some weeding. If I sit in the sitting room to read I find there are things that need to be done like dusting or refreshing the vase of flowers etc. However, when I am in bed there are no distractions at all and I can read with total concentration! My second favourite place to read is on a long flight when it is lovely to sit back and read a whole book in one go!

My favourite place to read is in a corner of the sunroom sat in my lovely modern rocking chair.

I have a 5 yr old son and a 1 yr old grandson so finding the time isn't always easy.

With my darling daughter just left for uni my favourite place to read is her daybed, overlooking the garden and with plenty of teddies and cushions to cuddle. Even the cat comes to join the fun, although I do need to fend him off when he wants to settle his fluffy bottom on top of the book!

The corner of my sofa with good lighting. Bedtime is good too, but I never get very far before getting too sleepy.

Just one place? Would have to be my Poang, by the fire. V unoriginal I know.

I do live reading in cafés though as well. And on trains. And in bed.

My favourite place to read is on my little balcony on a pleasant summers evening. Nice glass of wine and a good read - bliss

Alidoll Mon 24-Nov-14 18:07:10

My favourite place to read is on a plane as I'm a captive audience and can't exactly go for a walk or some fresh air (well, not without being strapped to the chair for trying and a criminal record afterwards...or death!)

pennwood Mon 24-Nov-14 18:05:17

My favourite place to read a book is relaxing in the sunshine on holiday in the summertime, but in the winter I like to take my book with me to my warm bubble bath and have a long soak.

anniemcgeoch Mon 24-Nov-14 18:05:13
