Over the festive season we love nothing more than curling up with a good book and a box of mince pie or two. And this year there are some VERY good books indeed. So we asked all the publishers we work with to nominate one of their favourite reads to enjoy this Christmas. And here they all are in one handy list.

Better still - one lucky gransnetter can win the ENTIRE lot. Yup - that's every book featured on the page. Worth more than £500. In our book (no pun intended) that's a pretty fine haul at any time of year - and absolutely perfect for Christmas.

We just want to know where you like reading. Your answers will be put into the very large hat and a draw (made at random) will take place at midday on Weds 10 December - so the winner will receive their prize in plenty of time for the big day. All the details on the page

Curled up in a warm bed.

Snuggled up on the sofa with a strong cup of tea, some dark chocolate and total peace so I can totally immerse myself in my book

I read anywhere and everywhere and usually have at least two books on the go at any one time. One in each of my two favourite places for reading - in bed and in a big cosy armchair.

Fabulous selection of books, I've read a few of them but most are completely new to me and it would be a joy to find new authors and old favourites in the selection.

I curl up on my lovely swing chair (retirement gift to myself) in the quietest end of my garden. Also in the winter I curl up in bed with Oscar (cat) and millions of pillows.

Curled up in my small conservatory, especially on a sunny winter's day

I like to read in bed. I also like to read in the garden in the summer.

In bed, under the covers, with a torch as a child.
Now I am old, anywhere, as long as it is comfortable and warm.

On the settee with a fleecy cover. In a chair in the garden in the summer (but we don't get much of one up north!). In bed snuggled under the duvet. On trains and planes. As a child I read everywhere. When I visited the library I was allowed to borrow 4 books I always chose 5 and read one in the library.

My favourite place is in bed, plumped up pillows, hot chocolate and biscuits after a warm bath.

My favourite place is in my bedroom with all my scented candles lit and my onesie on.

Every day I look forward to curling up in bed with my latest book, I always have one on the go.

ffinnochio Sat 15-Nov-14 17:33:34

At home and on planes, trains, buses and boats.

At work during my lunch break. It gives me an hour of escapism before returning to the real world for the afternoon shift

Almost anywhere - I always have my Kindle with me where ever I go - doctors, dentists, bus journeys. During the summer my favourite is outdoors with a cool drink - preferably cider. In the winter - curled up in bed with a hot drink or something warming.

in bed in the middle of the night when I find it difficult to go back to sleep, no distraction then and the warmest safest place to be.

What a wonderful collection of books.
I used to like to read in the bath but regularly fell asleep to the detriment of my book! Now I only shower as I live alone and falling asleep is not a good plan.
I also read in the toilet because when I had children at home it was the only place I could read undisturbed.
In the summer I sit outside and read and feel guilty because I should be doing the gardening!
In the winter anywhere that I can sit with my back against a radiator preferably that has some chocolates close by.
I also read on my Kindle anywhere.
All I need is more hours in the day to read more.

I love reading anywhere - in the garden, in bed last thing at night, on a sunbed on the beach or by a pool (preferably in the shade!) - but best of all in my lovely cosy conservatory on a wet and miserable afternoon.

I love to read in the bath for about an hour a night. It's so hot and cozy and I can top it up to keep it warm when I need to. It's such a peaceful place.

Autobiography books I find fascinating

Funkyferret Sat 15-Nov-14 14:34:52

My favourite place to read is in bed, with the radio on low in the background, a nice cosy room and a mug of Horlicks or hot chocolate.

Lindajoy Sat 15-Nov-14 14:28:48

The only place I feel truly relaxed enough to read is in bed, under the duvet. I can read the paper downstairs but serious book reading can only be done in bed!

Bez Sat 15-Nov-14 13:38:04

In winter on the sofa with the woodburner going - it is even better if raining or snowing outside - the cosines is even stronger and more defined. Summertime - outside but in the shade and relaxing in a lounger.

I have read the list of titles and hope they will remain there for a while after Christmas for reference purposes - so many look good reads.
