Over the festive season we love nothing more than curling up with a good book and a box of mince pie or two. And this year there are some VERY good books indeed. So we asked all the publishers we work with to nominate one of their favourite reads to enjoy this Christmas. And here they all are in one handy list.

Better still - one lucky gransnetter can win the ENTIRE lot. Yup - that's every book featured on the page. Worth more than £500. In our book (no pun intended) that's a pretty fine haul at any time of year - and absolutely perfect for Christmas.

We just want to know where you like reading. Your answers will be put into the very large hat and a draw (made at random) will take place at midday on Weds 10 December - so the winner will receive their prize in plenty of time for the big day. All the details on the page

My favourite place to read is at the dining table. Somehow it seems more comfortable than sitting slumped on the sofa.

In the summer, weather permitting it's on our garden swing. The rest of the year I love to sit in the conservatory during the daytime or curl up on the sofa at night. Now retired I am so lucky to be able to give much more time to my life-long passion for books smile

My favourite place to read is ANY PLACE, ANY TIME, ANYWHERE (Wait - wasn't that the slogan for Martini? Thank you. Don't mind if I do!) Sitting on the loo, in bed, in the cosy armchair downstairs, in the car (with hubby driving), in the office, on holiday, in waiting rooms, on aeroplanes, in hospital - wherever I go, a book goes with me.

My house resembles a mini library with books adorning walls upstairs and down and crammed in every corner possible. Much to my husband's dismay, I can't bear to get rid of any of them - even the ones I haven't enjoyed. Each is a friend whom I have got to know and cherish. And, somehow, there will ALWAYS be room for more!

I simply cannot imagine a world without books. The mere thought makes me shiver. They have given me a lifetime of pleasure and will continue to do so until the day I take my last breath.

I like to read sitting on my sofa day or night

Difficult question as it does depend on the season, but best of all I think is in bed as then nobody tends to disturb me as they're not sure if I'm reading or sleeping and I can get some peace.

my favourite place to read is on the plane travelling to see my grandchildren in the USA for Christmas!

my favourite place to read is curled up in bed under the covers in winter and sprawled over the bed in summer!

I love to curl up on the sofa under a slanket and read. I love books and prefer a real book to a kindle version.

My favourite place to read is at home by the fire in my cosy old chair. I am definitely a home-bird these days but I've more than made up for this in years gone by ;)

I am in my favourite place right now...... a big squashy armchair, looking out onto the fields and woods of the Creuse landscape in France.....cold but bathed with a wintry sunshine. Bliss.

sitting on a sun lounger on holiday without a care in the world and lots of time to enjoy reading

Bill12 Sun 07-Dec-14 10:57:13

In bed, before going to sleep is my favourite place to read but I carry an e-reader everywhere and take every opportunity I can to escape into a book.

At this time of the year I love to read in my comfy old sunlounger in the greenhouse, the heaters are on and all round good light. I can watch all the birds feeding from the bird tables and I am surrounded by small shoots of new life for the garden when it wakes up next spring. My book,a cup of coffee and a choccy digestive - BLISS!!

Curled up in bed - it's the only way I can get to sleep. Trouble is I usually fall asleep half way through reading so I take a long time to get through a book!

It would have to sitting next to a cracking log fire as the wind whips up around the windows

My favourite place to read a book is in my bedroom in bed, or/and in a hammock at a place with decent weather (e.g. Florida)

Anya Sat 06-Dec-14 22:49:24

On the sofa in my front room with the light from the window behind me.
