One of our very favourite features is our annual round up of the best children's books of the year

This year we've featured you over 30 fantastic books for children of all ages, from babies and preschoolers - to young adults and teens. Great ideas for Christmas shopping. AND three lucky gransnetters get to win the lot...each set is worth over £350 and is sure to keep the family (and the wider family and the neighbours' kids...) happy for a very long time.

Full details on the page

To enter the draw - which will be made at midday on Tuesday 16 December - all you have to do is answer one simple question.

What's your favourite children's book of all time?

Maybe it's one that you loved as a child. One that you read to your own children. Or one that you read with your grandchildren. Old, new, classic or little-known...we look forward to compiling a list of gransnetters all-time favourites.

Five on a Treasure Island (Enid Blyton)....wow..what an exciting book to read !! I was 10 when I read it and I still remember the suspense I felt...I think that's when I became a fast reader...just couldn't wait to discover what happened next !! I became part of the story..in my little world I became one of the gang...The Famous Six !! I had a vivid picture in my mind of the island, the secret tunnels....I felt the danger....phew..!! It was my first introduction to the wonderful stories by Enid Blyton..and boy..what an introduction !!!

I loved Black Beauty

constance Fri 12-Dec-14 16:57:22

The Secret Garden was the first book I read where the heroine was not a well-behaved and charming child, which made me feel better about myself. So I have a big soft spot for it and have read it often.

The Jolly Postman is one of the family's all-time favourites. The little envelopes inside the book with special messages were made with little fingers in mind. A delightful bedtime/activity book.

Being a frustrated horsey child I loved:

The Silver Brumby by Elyne Mitchell. A marvellous tale about wild horses in Australia.

Also Silver Snaffles by Primrose Cumming, a tale of talking horses and changing times.

Jill's Gymkhana by Ruby Ferguson.

I also think Jock of the Bushveld by Percy Fitzgerald is a fascinating book about dogs and South Africa and all it's wildlife.

Also loved the Jinny books - For the Love of a Horse - better than average pony story set in northern England, mysterious Celtic goings on as well as ponies.

My favourite book was 'Winnie The Pooh'. I was immersed in the world of Pooh Bear on a flight from London Heathrow to Sydney Australia and just loved it.

jessfisher Fri 12-Dec-14 12:56:49

It has to be Burglar Bill which my son loved as a toddler

soop Fri 12-Dec-14 12:55:27

'The Little Grey Men' and 'Down the Bright Stream' both written by 'B.B'
Read to mother when she was at school. Read to me by the same teacher, at the same school, when I was a child. Read to my son, who now owns both books and reads to his son. Brilliant!

HotPotBottom Fri 12-Dec-14 11:41:49

I'd have to say 'The Jolly Postman' it's one of those books that kids really love to read over and over - the opening of letters is exciting for them, and it's a good read too.
