Long, light days. Opening all the windows to let warm, fresh air flow through the house. Being outside without layers of clothing. Bare feet on cool grass or paddling in the sea. Soft fruit and crunchy salads. All in all the contrast with other seasons.

Going to the beach on long evenings.

I love the light. I spring out of bed and have my coffee in the garden listening to the day awakening. I also get so much more done; weeding, harvesting on my allotment with my husband. I can return home and either cross stitch or read by natural light. I feel happy.

It has to be the warmer weather and lighter evenings and, of course, it is holiday season too!

What I like about summer is not having to worry about heating bills and having the extra daylight hours

waking up and realising that I have the whole day to fill with what I want to do! (I'm a busy special needs teacher!)

Life seems to be SO much busier now than even when I was a young parent & a real summer treat to me is having a holiday where you can spend hours a day just reading & totally getting into a book as opposed to starting a book at home with good intentions & finding that you can't actually even remember who the characters are because it has been so long since you actually read more than a page & it has become so disjointed!

It has to be the sun as it seems to put everyone in a good mood and leads to better things. People are more able to find the best in someone which causes them to find the good aura.

The best thing about summer is waking up in the morning naturally to the sun shining through your window. It's such an uplifting feeling!
