On the recommendation of this thread I have been intrigued enough to read a Barbara Pym, and quite enjoyed it. I read Crampton Hodnet and was highly amused by all the different characters and the manners and etiquette of the time. I may well get another one.
My current book is David Attenborough's Adventures of a Young Naturalist, which is our book club choice this month. I remember reading this many moons ago and find his writing still entrancing. My goodness though, he has really changed his views now, hasn't he? He wouldn't dream of going out on an animal collecting expedition now, would he? I expect that will be our main point of discussion, how our views on the place of zoos has changed.
