To be published in January. Oh dear ?

Callistemon21 Mon 31-Oct-22 19:33:54

Not just you, KeepitLight, I mean that many Americans seem fascinated by the British monarchy.
I wondered why.

Oh dear. I’m half afraid to admit that we took my MILs horses and dogs to her funeral. She loved them so much it just felt right.

The funeral was at a Green burial place, in case anyone is shocked.

If it felt right, good for you. It's not like you were doing things on camera like the RF.

I think the personal touch is nice. Sorry if I suggested otherwise. I wonder if the animals understand the person is gone? I know they would understand that everyone is sad.

Callistemon21 Mon 31-Oct-22 19:36:20

Do we have to be so unwelcoming to Americans?

It wasn't meant to be.
Why would you think that?
It is something that intrigues me.

I could ask DH's cousins I suppose, but it's not something we've discussed.

volver Mon 31-Oct-22 19:36:42

Well you can ask, but I won't be answering.

You could ask other posters why they think its appropriate to challenge new-ish posters on what their interests are, because apparently, in their opinion, those interests are subject to scrutiny.

Why did our dog jump on my mother's chair , not just any chair, and refuse to get down?
Telepathy?

Queen of Scots.

She could have flown to Edinburgh, which last time I looked is still in Scotland.

If she had asked your advice, you could have told her to do just that.

I'm not sure she would have asked advice of a Republican who thinks the whole thing was a medieval exercise in projecting power.

Callistemon21 Mon 31-Oct-22 19:40:08

Here comes the clique!!

I know you dislike that word but it is quite funny.
Every time.😂😂😂

OnwardandUpward Mon 31-Oct-22 19:43:27

Could you imagine cats at a funeral though!? grin

Dogs and horses can be trained... but a cat!? It made me laugh just imagining cats at a funeral. grin It makes me laugh also that they think they are divine, but they have to clean themselves after (you know what) in the most undignified way.

I do like cats and have some, before anyone accuses me of being anti cat. But they do their own thing. Cats at a funeral. The idea made me smile. grin

Callistemon21 Mon 31-Oct-22 19:44:06

Cats cause chaos 🐱

volver Mon 31-Oct-22 19:44:34

Well as I seem to be the only one posting about the medieval exercise, it can't be my clique.

Can we not start this again, please?

I would mention the attitude of 4-year-olds, but Joseanne wouldn't like it.

Believe me, four horses was no picnic🐎🐎🐎🐎

OK, reported.

Whatever for?

I’ve just sat down to read the rest of this thread and this.

Maybe some need to take a break as this is ridiculous. Get a grip!

Read this quick as no doubt it will be reported and I’ll be sent to the naughty step!

volver Mon 31-Oct-22 20:02:54

You won't be reported tickingbird, unless you tell me to stop posting and accuse me of being in a clique.

Simples.

That's very odd.

Did I accuse you of being in a clique?
Did I tell you to stop posting?

No.

You know what volver ? I truly don’t give a fig one way or the other.

I daresay this thread will be pulled shortly anyway. You’re having a good day.

Cue: Oh, I didn't mean you, I didn't mean that, you're so touchy.

Ok dogs and bereavement. My two certainly have picked up on the sadness around us. But I feel there’s more to their changed behaviour than simple reaction to a busier home with higher emotions than usual. The young male lab began guarding me as soon as he came home, total first. He also went straight to mr i’s chair and sat on it, something he’s not allowed to do (well he is now).
I was moved by the image of Emma, the Queen’s pony and the two corgis. A friend’s funeral included two golden labs who escorted her coffin, then lay motionless either side of the coffin throughout the hour long service

I'm wondering what happened here grin

Why is anyone being sent to the naughty step? I thought it might be me who was reported for imagining very naughty cats at a funeral. But if so, a sense of humour is severely lacking grin

Forsythia Mon 31-Oct-22 20:18:14

I think animals do sense things. I felt the inclusion of the animals was a lovely moment.

Im so sorry for your loss @Iam64

Did you find it helped your dogs to accept the loss?

I haven’t reported anyone. Volver has reported Callistemon, allegedly for accusing her of being in a clique.

I made a joke about being sent to the naughty step. Personally I think it’s all rather silly and think perhaps some should just take a step back for a bit.

Anyway, aren’t dogs wonderful; they definitely know and feel a lot more than some give them credit for. They know when someone’s died I’m sure.
