Thanks for that shysal. I look forward to reading it and knowing that perhaps the best is yet to come.

Sorry, I saw that Simon has already been mentioned.
Read the thread Fanny! 🙄

I’ve never read any of her books, but I know that she’s the sister of the late Tara Palmer Tompkinson (one of those people that I can’t believe is dead)
And she’s married to the historian Simon Sebag Montefiore

By chance I picked up one of her books in the Tesco book exchange last week but I haven’t started it. It’s called the Italian Matchmaker. How do you rate it ?

I list all the books I read, and give marks out of 10. The Italian Matchmaker I scored 8. Most others of hers I gave a 9, but that still indicates that I enjoyed it.

I’ve read a few of her books and enjoyed them, but I actually prefer the writing of her husband, Simon Sebag M. His Moscow trilogy was excellent.

He wrote to DH once when he was researching a book. DH was able to point him in the right direction for the help he needed.
I can't remember which book it was.

Yes, I've read a few of her books and enjoyed them, this has jogged my memory.

I must read more.

I`m a Santa Montifiori fan, have read several of her books, but, typically, can`t bring a title to mind when I need one!

Do you review the books you read? I list mine on Goodreads and I amaze myself sometimes at how many books I’ve read in the last couple of years.

I took 2 carrier bags of books to the charity book stall at Tesco today. I drop them off as I go in and it really pleases me to see how many have gone by the time I finish shopping.😉

In fact I picked up one of her books yesterday but in the end bought another one.

I read the Ombu Tree one a good while ago Shysal and enjoyed it.

I enjoyed The Kiss. To be honest I could ready anything of hers. Try one!!

shysal Sat 15-Jul-23 17:51:52

She is my favourite author and I have read all her books. The first one I read and enjoyed was years ago, called 'Meet me under the Ombu Tree, the plot of which I can barely remember. However, my absolute favourite is 'The French Gardener'. A few of her recent books have been about village life and a character called Flappy, which I have found disappointing. Be careful when choosing titles, as some of them are sagas in a series. Good luck, I hope you enjoy whichever title(s) you choose.

I’ve just been reading an interesting article by Santa Montifiori and realise I have never ready any of her many books. Can you recommend one to me please? I don’t know where to start.
