For some reason Auto correct does not like the abbreviation for Science Fiction!

I wasn’t going to pay for it so I waited until the library had it. Glad I didn’t pay for it, having read it. Not a good book and quite delusional ,unfortunately. I was hoping to feel some sympathy for the ‘author’ ( if he actually managed to write it himself ) but no, nada. Self indulgence par excellence. Ah well, sometimes the press are right …

Glorianny you know Harry wasn’t supported by his family or
you believe Harry’s truth ?
The problem I see is where do Librarians shelve the book? Under Fact or Fiction?

I believe that he, like any other survivor of family conflict (and presumably you do realise there was conflict) is entitled to give his views of what happened and how that conflict affected them, especially if they feel it damaged them.

But at whose expense Glorianny? OK I agree that Harry is entitled to express his views about how damaging his own upbringing was. But (and this is in the book or in his promoting it, I cant remember which), it isn't then Harry's place to feel entitled to criticise his bother's and Catherine's parenting of their children, saying that they will end up as damaged as he is.
That's the problem, he has taken all this conflict one step too far.

If you come from a dysfunctional family and you see that the same practices which caused damage to you are still being practised, don't you have a duty to those you see suffering to point out what you see?
It is entirely possible he may be wrong, but actually I don't think that it is particularly good for children to be paraded, photographed and exhibited. If this was being done by any working class family there would be people in uproar about exploitation. There are really strong regulations in theatre and film for the time a child can be on stage etc.
The exploited children in the Windsor family were William and Harry, exploited by their mother.
I think any 10 year old who sits through a 4 hour tennis final with an enthusiastic smile on his face isn't being paraded, but is actually enjoying himself. There was very little photographing of the Royal party on that occasion though I did find one photo. Same for football matches when Prince George and his dad go to watch Aston Villa.
As I understand it, during term time a 10 year old child can "perform" up to 15 hours per week, so I am sure the royals and their current school are keeping a close eye on these regulations.
Those children are not paraded , who would keep children away from watching a football match, tennis match, the coronation of their grandfather
Prompted by this thread, I had a look at the extracts on Amazon. It’s written in a tabloid newspaper style, with very short sentences in case readers aren’t very proficient. And why does he refer to himself as Harold? His name is Henry. I didn’t feel any desire to read more.
And why does he refer to himself as Harold?
Really?
Did he proof-read it?
Yes, William calls Harry Harold, and Harry calls William Willy.
it strokes his victimhood; harold beaten by william, the conqueror !
I haven’t read the book and am unlikely to but this made me laugh. nypost.com/2023/07/21/prince-harrys-memoir-spare-considered-the-most-discarded-book-this-summer-report/
I haven't read it but I did enjoy this video.

Not all Harolds were victims.
Some fought against Kaiser Bill - and won 🙂
Travel company On The Beach says it’s found over 100 discarded copies of the book this summer.
Oh no, we could have picked up a free copy SueDonim ☹

I don't suppose it bothers the publishers what happens to the book once you've dished out the cash for it.
And the author
Aw, shucks, Callisetemon!
My friend bought it to see what all the fuss was about. She said once she got past the few juicy bits it was just so boring.
The couple of extracts I read in the papers seemed to me as if the ghost writer was continually egging him on. "What happened next Harry?" "What really nasty things did William say? Didn't he say anything nastier than that" It all seemed a bit like his claim about the newspaper reports that upset him, when he couldn't remember what he'd read when he was questioned in court.

Delusional ? Honestly, he was baring his soul . Daily Mail and The Sun do a good job of promoting lies and hate . You just jumped on that wagon and read through those ugly spectacles . It was worth reading . People here just live for reasons to hate Harry and Meghan. These tabloids made a fortune on that !
If by ‘people here’ you mean us Brits in the U.K., Syracute, I do assure you that far from ‘hating’, many of us are simply bored - we have no desire to hear another word about the tedious pair ever again. We wish they’d just go and enjoy the quiet, private life they were supposed to have been longing for.

I think that, as nanna8 has told us she does not live in the UK, she has probably not been influenced by anything in the UK papers you mention, Syracuse, therefore her judgement and views are her own.
As for those of us who do live in the UK, we don't necessarily read the newspapers and can make up our own minds if we do read the book.
I made up my mind and I didn’t read the book.
His behaviour was enough for me.
I’m not even a royalist, but the behaviour when his granny was in her final months was appalling.
I bought it, read it and have nothing but sympathy for Harry.
