I'm about a third way through and finally starting to enjoy it.

My next book club read and I am struggling to stay interested. But thank you, Bridie, I'll persevere now!

Bit late to this thread but I loved The Dictionary of Lost Words. I understand the writer is Australian and this is her first book. She must have done a hell of a lot of research!

Those who like books about words might enjoy Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn. It's an easy read, but very clever. Islanders have to manage with fewer and fewer letters of the alphabet but still communicate, which they do remarkably well.

Just finishedThe Bookbinders of Jericho. Jericho being a part of the Oxford Press. I enjoyed this as well as it is a sequel to the Lost Words.

I really enjoyed this. I loved the idea of the reject words. I liked that it was based on fact.

I read it a while ago and thought it was an interesting and enjoyable read.

I read it quite recently and really enjoyed such a lovely gentle read. Well written too. Prompted me to read her other book, The Bookbinder of Jericho,

I read about half of it and then abandoned it as I just couldn't maintain interest. The friend who lent it to me thought it was really good, but we're all different.
