Hello everyone,

I have now set up my page on bravetheshave.org.uk

No donations showing as yet, but perhaps that's because I have only just started spreading the word grin

If you would like to donate, there are 2 ways, either text SHAVE 16573 to 70550 which will allow you to make a donation of £5, or go to the website and use the "find a shaver" option, when I am not being Phoenix, I pretend to be Rachel Hudson wink

GNHQ, perhaps you would consider pinning this post?

Thank you!

Better photo now on my Macmillan profile!

Some people had said that as I already had quite short hair, it wasn't much of a "sacrifice" confused but hopefully the new photo will show that I do have some length to lose!

Thank you Auntieflo, my first GN donor!

phoenix Thu 26-Jul-18 20:07:55

Bump!

Gagagran Thu 26-Jul-18 20:18:41

Just donated. Hope more GNs will do so too.

phoenix Thu 26-Jul-18 20:45:37

Thank you Gagaran, much appreciatedsmile

When I first posted about this, quite a few members said they would be happy to donate, let's hope they still are.

I did ask HQ if they might pin it, but it would contravene their policy, fair enough, but I will just have to keep "bumping" it!

Glad to hear you are on your fundraising way.

Thank you, but a long way to go!

The appointment is booked, my dear hairdresser (who at first was refusing to do it!) has agreed to come out on Tuesday 7th August at 3.30 and do it during work afternoon tea break.

Nice compromise, I think, between doing it very publicly, i.e in a pub etc, or just nipping off to have it done alone.

My workmates and the students know the real reason behind it wink although I am also thinking of my god daughter, Annie, who was widowed with a 6 year old son in her early thirties, when her husband died of cancer of the spine.

phoenix Sat 28-Jul-18 22:17:17

Thanks now to Bathsheba, your donation has landed!

There are still a few who said (on the original thread) that they would sponsor me, but haven't done yet............

I'm so far from my target, but perhaps I did set it a bit too high blush

phoenix Sun 29-Jul-18 09:10:13

There has been a donation made by someone that I think is GN member, but they haven't included their GN name, so I don't know who to thank!

MissAdventure Sun 29-Jul-18 10:08:14

Me, I think! smile
I should have put it in my message.

mcem Sun 29-Jul-18 10:29:31

I've tried but for some reason they wouldn't accept my address so couldn't get to payment stage!
Will try again later. Promise!!!!!

phoenix Sun 29-Jul-18 15:23:22

My hair is shorter than yours, Phoenix, but I’d still have to think long and hard about shaving it off! Donated!
