The above charity has an appeal for Ukraine. If you 'Google' DEC you will find the site. British Government will match your donation pound for pound up to £20 million pounds. I have donated to DEC before and they seem good at getting the money to where it is needed.

The Disasters Emergency Committee or DEC launches appeals when large-scale disasters hit countries without the capacity to respond.

It’s made up of a number of charities including the Red Cross and has the resources to make a rapid response.

I’ve donated as I feel it’s best placed to help those in Ukraine.

Thanks Pepper and thanks Blossoming for the link

I have been wondering where I should make my donation. This looks like a good option

I’ve donated. I wonder, though, how we can help the many innocent Russian families whose breadwinners have been killed. All sides suffer in war. Perhaps Médecins sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders) would be a start.

Surely it’s up to Putin to help his own people who are suffering through his own actions? The Ukrainians need the help as a priority.

I've been waiting for the DEC details, and they were on TV last evening, so I donated then. It's easy by text.

The breadwinners could lay down their arms and refuse to kill their brothers and sisters and destroy their country.

I’ve donated through the Red Cross.
The children had Mufti today, and although they were asking for their usual pound, many children were taking in five and ten pound notes.

A friend has asked for us to donate to a charity of choice rather than have birthday presents.
I donated to the DEC as it encompasses so many different charities. The Red Cross is one and is working in Ukraine.

Red Cross and DEC. Our town is sending lorries too. Donations are amazing.

Darn it, I donated to the Red Cross two days ago, before the matched funding was announced. Though perhaps it’ll apply to donations already made as well? ?

nadateturbe Fri 04-Mar-22 19:55:23

Hopefully Maggiemaybe.

My charity of choice normally, it was just the matching promise which made me change.
Ah well, I have another pile of stuff to take to the Red Cross shop in the clear out.
I hope that every little helps.

A relative of mine wants to send a cheque to the Red Cross Ukraine Appeal but I can't find where to send it. Can anyone advise me, please?

DannieRae, I’ve found a form you fill in and send with a cheque, if that helps.
They don’t seem to have an option for anyone who doesn’t have both internet and printer!
