Oxter was in common use where we live.

Jo8 we have brought up 5 between u s- 2 his 2 mine and 1 together, plus 64 that we have looked after over the years....... ;)

Does the term tush come from tukhus? It is from the States, and they have a lot of words that started as Yiddish.

It's actually "tukhus" (sp?) and it is Yiddish for backside / bottom / beheuchie.

I have googled tockhus & cannot find it !!

Is it a made up word ?

My mother had many Jewish friends from the garment industry, and always called her bottom her 'tokhus'. She was inclined to tell us to kiss it when we annoyed her.
I do sympathise with anybody suffering from the nasty symptoms of vaginal dryness - it sounds very uncomfortable.

I was not determinedly scrubbing anything either. I just reached the the point where gentle washing with even ordinary shower with gel caused irritation.

This is "vaginal dryness"plus some. Pre diagnosis and treatment it affected my comfort just walking.

I know doofer as a useful word for anything you have forgotten the name of, or don't want to use in current company. It must be "I can't think of the right name but this'll doofer now." Like whatsit or oojimaflip.

'Beheuchie' was a favourite word of my father's. He used to avidly watch skaters on the TV, waiting for them to fall onto aforementioned part of their anatomy. Sometimes, if he felt he had overused the word he would substitute it with 'doofer'. I still hear people refer to beheuchies but never seem to hear about any doofers nowadays.

I don't perspire under my arms and have never bought a deodorant in my life.......I lie, I sometimes buy Chanel No 5 because its cheaper than the perfume and spray it in my hair

They are nowhere near your beheuchie. (now wonder about that!)

I was brought up believing that 'oxters' was a very rude word, which is why I use it whenever the occasion presents itself. A while back someone sent me a list of products/adverts translated into Scots. I remember that my favourite deodorant became 'Doo Oxter Scoosh'.

I thought a douche washed inside the vagina, not round the outside. Douches are definitely for the obsessed, so is determined scrubbing of the labia with strong cleanser - symptomatic of guilty conscience, IMO!

I see no problem in giving that area a quick wash with a mild unperfumed soap or gel and then rinsing it off well. A lot of the fragranced shower gels are just too strong for the sensitive skin there so why not use a specialised product, if you want to, but any unperfumed product from a trusted manufacturer should be OK.

Special skin creams for the oxters? Only if you have more money than sense.

Not only pointless, but sometimes harmful, as my link shows.
Isn't it odd that we appear to be the only living creature that deliberately removes the odours which attract a mate! (Yes, I do use a deodorant, but I don't need it much since I have had no underarm hair for several years. I find that a bath or shower ever day, and clean underwear and tee shirt daily keep me quite fresh - not that anybody else gets near enough to notice!)

I realise that some have problems and did not mean to be unsympathetic - but I think douches in a healthy vagina are pointless.
