I want some new pyjamas.....

I have a really old plaid M&S dressing gown which spends most of its life gathering dust on the back of the bathroom door. Most mornings I pull on a fleece jumper and fleece trousers over my nightie. Can't imagine what the postie thinks.

My M and S dressing gown spends most of its time brushing the floor as its a little long for me ! The bottom of it is gets very dirty, so it also spends a lot of time in the washing machine

Some white cotton nighties from Past Times - but hell to iron and couldn't wear them unironed! Hate fleecy pj's as I get stuck and can't turn over so I agree with Jeni and have satiny pj's. Just don't feel cold in bed although bedroom radiator is permanently turned off. For Xmas, bought long M&S fleece dressing gown with zip and hood for DS's partner. She says she loves her ankle-length hoodie!

And today we hear that Past Times is in receivership. Better buy up their stock, em.

There's no way I could possibly call in to the shops in a dressing gown or PJ's, that would be really slovenly (I like that word - it's very descriptive) but like gally and Ariadne I don't wear anything in bed so it wouldn't be feasible anyway. Just a warm dressing gown and a pair of Crocs to come downstairs in the morning to make tea and let the dog out. Mind you - if the dog is a bit slow coming back in I sometimes have to go out and collect him, make sure that no-one sees me though

I wear nothing in bed, but always have pyjamas under th e pillow when the Grandchildren are here as occaionally they climb into bed in the morning. Marks and Spencer pyjamas one size too big, I like them baggy.

You're right golden - I do dress for bed when we have the DGC here - wouldn't want to frighten them

Sometimes if I'm cold and tired I just get into bed in what I've been wearing all evening (maybe track suit bottoms, bra, jumper, hoodie, socks) and then as I warm up during the night I wake up and peel bits off. I wouldn't get into bed in jeans though. Oh and I'll clean my teeth during the night if I was too tired to do them before bed. I like the idea of pyjamas one size too big.

Goldengran I buy my PJs one size too big as well then you can get all snuggley in them,I never buy nighties as during the night I end up tied up in a knot and get myself all het-up.

I had a babygro suit for adults many years ago when DH brought it back for me from the States, now I have a nightdress version bought in BHS. My winter night wear is a warm calf length long-sleeved T shirt nightdress from Lands End. In cold weather topped up by above mentioned babygro nightdress. I curl up inside them and pull the duvet over my head.

DH wears pyjama bottoms and a T shirt summer and winter and, be it never so cold, kicks off the duvet because he is overheating - and we do not have the heating on at night. Then he tells me he gets his best sleep between 6.00 and 8.00 in the morning because the heat comes on and the bedroom is warm enough to sleep well!! It may also be because I get up at 6.00 and he has the bed to himself.

Annika Staying in France with a lovely lady (English) who had married a 'Free French Sailor' I admired her lovely quilted pale pink D.G. until I noticed the hem..... she had tacked clear plastic around it, presumably to keep it clean!!!

I always wear a t shirt during the day under whichever sweater I'm wearing; keep that on at night and wear M&S cotton pyjama bottoms. Do the same with the next days t shirt. Always have a fleece next to the bed which I put on as soon as I get up [or during the night if it's cold. I think tonight the socks will stay on as well.

My daughter and one of my sons and his girlfriend each have a Norwegian OnePiece which they seem to to live in when they're relaxing. They are apparently ultra comfortable and I must say that if I were a different size/shape I might be tempted myself - oh, and if they were a hundred pounds cheaper!! onepiece.com/gb/shop/category/view:1

I wear a long baggy t shirt type nightdress, I hate the short ones that ride up every time you turn over. Not always easy to find the longer length in the shops but Oxendales do them in 3/4 length sleeve or short. I've never got on with pyjamas and don't find them very comfortable but maybe I should buy them in a bigger size. I keep an old cardy by the bed incase its cold in the middle of the night.

I bought a lovely, zip front, fleece hoodie dressing gown in Land's End sale; they have it in darker colours (mine is teal) which I prefer to pastels.

I too keep a T shirt nearby when the GC are here - don't want to frighten them!

Pyjamas in the winter and a nightie in the summer – or nothing, if it is very warm or muggy. As I have a size 12 top and a size 8 bottom, my pj trousers tend to stay where they were when I turn over during the night, which can be extremely uncomfortable. I am pleased to see that lots of places sell tops and bottoms separately now. Satin dressing gown in the summer, woollen one in the winter, towelling robe after showering. It took me a long time to find a warm dressing gown that wasn't designed for little old ladies.

I don't wear anything, summer or winter. I get so hot, I have the window opened up as high as it will go, even during the snow it was open. As soon as I get into bed I start glowing. It's probably an age thing, but I don't actually flush so not sure if it's the menopause.

Errrmmm! Those ladies who wear nothing and who get over-warm, better to 'glow' into a nightie or PJs than the sheets. Clean on every night, of course! Or am I missing something?

I bought my granddaughter a 'Onezie' from Primark for Christmas! It's like an adult fleece babygro and she loves it! They range from sizes 8-10 upward to size 18 (I think). The one I bought her was an animal print, but they do have more 'sensible' designs! Cost £10 if I remember.

As a, sometimes, sleepwalker I like to think that I am suitably dressed should I meet anyone on my walkabout. I wear pjs, the more luxurious the better. In the summer I may wear a nightdress but always with briefs in case of a breeze.

I can never decide whether or not to wear knickers under pyjama trousers. If yes, it can feel a bit swaddled, if no it means washing pjs every day.

It's those boring M and S cotton nightdress for me. Can't bear the idea of knickers or PJs as they cut you in half as you move round in bed. I also have to have my beany hotty that warms up in the microwave. It's wonderful.

Oooops, just realised my DH was logged in and not me, and described what I wear in bed (see above). I can assure you I am the one in the nightdress and he is the one in the buff in anyone call round tonight!!!
