This thread has really made me laugh but also brought back a memory I would rather forget! It was in 1960 and I went to a friend's wedding in a lovely full skirt, which swung out as I jived. Unfortunately, I had forgotten that I was wearing rather gray long-legged 'hold you in' panties, which showed every time I did a twirl.

Most reputable companies don't charge, you can register with us for nothing, there is an option to do an on-line training module and take a test at the end which does cost £10, but is not compulsory. Look for companies that are members of the Market Research Society (MRS) or the Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA)

The work is very ad hoc, we have over 200,000 people registered on our database!

Some assignments are very boring, others much more enjoyable. For example one of my clients has a chain of 6 famous tearooms in Yorkshire, so every month some poor soul has to go and have a full lunch or tea, and then buy something in the shop .....................wink

Greatnan go to the MSPA Europe website and do a search for mystery shopping companies in France (there are quite a few, we partner with them when doing programmes that include France), but do not contact them via the MSPA website, as that is onl supposed to be used by businesses looking for mystery shoppers.

However you will be able to find the companies website addresses. You can go to their websites and you will usually find a section whereby you can cntact them about becoming a mystery shopper for them.

Hope this helps.

PS If you get stuck PM me and I will try to post a link to you.

Greatnan Wed 25-Jan-12 18:31:45

Thank you, Phoenix, I will have a look.

Anne58 Wed 25-Jan-12 19:03:12

DUH! Meant to say "only used by companies looking for mystery shopping providers i.e. companies like us, who actually provide mystery shopping services.

But I expect you understood that!

jeni Wed 25-Jan-12 19:03:27

phoenix do you suppose there's a call for disability aware mystery shoppers?

Anne58 Wed 25-Jan-12 20:00:12

Absolutley jeni ! On our application form we ask about this, as sometimes (admittedly not often) clients ask us to provide mystery shoppers with mobility issues, hearing loss, sight loss etc. We did a programme for a hearing aid provider where we needed people with genuine hearing loss, we are currently setting up a project for a Local Authority where they need their website assessed by people with Autisism, we are able to provide this as we were contacted by an organisation that helps and supports young adults with Autism.

Please bear in mind that assignments may be few & far between, but feel free to sign up!

PS. I feel that I have sort of highjacked this thread, having moved on from wardrobe malfunctions and knicker wetting!

jeni Wed 25-Jan-12 20:47:49

Which one are you?

Anne58 Thu 26-Jan-12 19:13:46

I'm probably not allowed to say on here, it may be construed as advertising?

I would be happy to tell you, but don't want to breach the rules/get into trouble!

Feel free to PM me if you would like to. I would also be happy to provide the names of other mystery shopping companies (our competitors!) that I consider to be reputable.

jeni Thu 26-Jan-12 19:21:49

Will do. Probably tomorrow I'm not after a lot of work, just some thing different to do as a change! I'm not even interested in money so long as I break even!

Anne58 Thu 26-Jan-12 19:54:09

Jeni we also have mystery callers, you work from home, use a special number to dial that means the call costs are charged directly to us. This is more "regular" work than carrying out visits, perhaps that may be of interest?

It is still far from full time, but suits a lot of people.

jeni Thu 26-Jan-12 20:02:58

Could be!

nelliedeane Fri 27-Jan-12 14:44:06

Bad as my DS who shared on F.Book the fact that he went to the gym yesterday without underpants and completely split the crotch of his shorts.
