I've noticed that new names are popping up quite a lot recently, so wanted to say hello and welcome. Do come on here and introduce yourselves/say hello.
smile We're a friendly lot - honest!

Range, or distance capability. Sorry about that! I'm having a fluffy day! Eg I just agreed to go to Swansea tomorrow for a tribunal! This means I have to leave at 7.30am on a Friday. I don't do Fridays or early mornings. I must be raving!

glassortwo Thu 08-Mar-12 13:30:49

jeni fluffy or raving we love you, but Friday thats your day!!!

Carol Thu 08-Mar-12 13:37:40

There's such a buzz of excitement about this party. Where are we going to have it? Don't make me go into London after that last catastrophe. I still can't look a policeman in the eye!

glassortwo Thu 08-Mar-12 13:48:53

Policeman... someone say Policeman shock

supernana Thu 08-Mar-12 14:05:12

Carol you were your own worst enemy wink I seem to recall that there was an awful lot of unruly laughter and high jinx on the doorstep of number 10...then there was the time that baggy singed her hat when she passed out in the hearth of that nice inn...and....

Carol Thu 08-Mar-12 14:25:57

I thought we were never going to talk about those things again.................. blush

JessM Thu 08-Mar-12 15:23:40

Jeni why don't you stay in Swansea for the weekend... Verdi's icecream parlour beckons?

syberia Thu 08-Mar-12 16:26:44

OOh excited already!! Pink fun wig at the bottom of the wardrobe I think...

Carol Thu 08-Mar-12 16:34:23

I've just been shopping and I've got a few bottles of Wkd - it's luminous neon blue, so is bound to be the finest quality (well I don't know, do I?). Are we on, and do we have a venue yet? smile

glassortwo Thu 08-Mar-12 16:38:47

Dont know where should we venture this time grin

supernana Thu 08-Mar-12 16:47:52

Well now, I've been searching for nightwear [suitable for the posh hospital] and I have to tell you [in confidence] that I'm in deep shock. I've seen some cute, sheer wotsits - with various bits cut out [far too expensive, considering what fabric remains is so scant] and satin thongs with diamante studs! Either would do for our party. Sadly, there isn't a carrier available to deliver at such short notice. blush

JessM Thu 08-Mar-12 16:59:54

so confused. Is this real hospital or virtual party you are getting togged up for super ?
Has someone set a time and date?

Carol Thu 08-Mar-12 17:01:33

supernana if you're splashing out on these exotic items, maybe we should gatecrash an exotic party. They can be delivered by tardis. It's a virtual party so we can choose which one we want. We could go to the Vanity Fair Oscars party, Elton John's, Hugh Heffner's, or maybe we could go to one in the UK. Any ideas, anyone? Need to book my place on a broomstick or the tardis! grin

Butternut Thu 08-Mar-12 17:02:45

Pagan rights for the newbies - dancing in the wild daffodil woods - painted bodies. No cops around. Bonfires...... ??
When?

Jacey Thu 08-Mar-12 17:09:37

Please, please not any where near any more royal property ...not after the last time!! shock

Will give the old broomstick a test run tonight...as it had to go in for maintenance after that last get together hmm

Carol Thu 08-Mar-12 17:09:53

Oooh, that sounds good Butternut. I like the idea of dancing in the woods. What about somewhere just outside Midsomer Norton? We might come across some forbidden coven and a few bodies......da da daaaaaaaahhhh! (dramatic music!)

Annobel Thu 08-Mar-12 17:10:09

Butter - not in this weather.

jeni Thu 08-Mar-12 17:16:10

There's only one place :- Stonehenge of course!
By the way, I was trying to put this address into my tomtom for Swansea. It kept coming up as abertawe! I rang Cardiff to complain they had given me the wrong postcode!
Roars of laughter! Apparently Abertawe is Swansea! blush

JessM Thu 08-Mar-12 18:15:30

yes it is, but nobody calls it abertawe unless they are welsh language fundamentalists storm trooper.
Not sure if it was ever called it, until someone set their mind to making one up.
"the mouth of the river tawe" hmm
Swansea is nothing to do with swans but is "Sweyne's Eyot" - a viking popped by (maybe on his way to conquer Ireland?) and called a small islet at the mouth of the river after himself, (or his dad or his brother or whoever) So it has been sweynesey for over a thousand years

jeni Thu 08-Mar-12 18:23:34

My tomtom calls it Abertawe. It is an English tomtom! Have the Cymru brigade sabotaged my software? Will I be sent to Cydwhelli instead of Kidwelly ?
And as for TNT Pwyll place?
HELP!!!

JessM Thu 08-Mar-12 18:56:08

yes someone from the storm troopers has sabotaged the software code I'm afraid Jeni. Watch out for Caerdydd instead of Cardiff on the way back along with Pen y bont instead of Bridgend. It is pretty confusing for foreign (ie English) drivers. Say hello to Wales for me [homesick whimpers, can you hear them]
I am always mystified by the M4 as you come over the bridge. There you are, crossing the estuary and arriving in Wales just above sea level. A few minutes later you are descending rapidly down towards the Usk (with the Celtic Manor looming above it) There never seems enough Up before all that Down.

jeni Thu 08-Mar-12 19:00:26

Turn left just after Celtic manor for Newport?

JessM Thu 08-Mar-12 19:05:25

Yes that's the bit. Weird. YOu aren't posting while driving on the M4 Jeni are you?
I once saw a man reading a book on the end bit, past Swansea.
Where are you staying in Swansea?

jeni Thu 08-Mar-12 19:11:02

I'm not. You are paying for a taxi to take me to a tribunal and back tomorrow morning. It's cheaper than them having to reschedule the tribunal!
