Last time I stayed it was in a perfectly adequate and clean hotel just before you get to town. One the left in the bit that used to be the docks. I went down to the desk to try to get an extra pillow or something and witnessed the interesting spectacle of the receptionist trying to deal tactfully with a couple of young lesbians that were obviously planning a weekend together but who did not have an acceptable credit card or other means of payment. I felt sorry for him. He was struggling on in the face of resistance.

oh I just looked on the web - looks nice. it was seedy in the extreme for decades. One of the few buildings of that age that escaped the blitz and hadn't been done up since.
So seedy that i never went to any event there.
Police used to drink there I think... Near their HQ. ALong with a pub around the corner called Adam and Eve.
When I was working in the health service a Sikh GP in his 60s dropped dead at a disco there. We all thought he had gone out in style.

Welcome. mammo just look for a thread you like the look of and post whatever you like. We can be more than a little crazy at times but we are also supportive and friendly - even occasionally wise. If you click on forums and then look for threads on your chosen forum, you will soon see the variety of things we cover. We even have 'virtual parties'. Don't ask!

Would you believe it I was all 'tarted up' and ready to do a bit of movin' and shakin' with the rest of the rabble, when, bless me, I nodded off. I seem to remember a howling outside the window...must have been Rory, totally fed up with not having found himself a new willing wifelet...or, it could have been the 'polis' siren as the car sped to wherever the party was getting out of hand. Well, as I say, I know nuffink. Having trawled through the nightie dept on sites that were totally inappropriate [for a nice lady to wear in an upmarket bed], I settled for two nightshirts...classic...decent...hopefully covering the saggy bits. Hey ho! I should know the actual date of surgery by Monday. Certainly within the next two weeks. I don't have a lap-top, so I'm going to suffer major GN withdrawel symptoms when I'm bed-bound. Aw...I shall miss the merry banter. Do so wish you could visit and share a nice cup of tea and choc biscuit. We could have such fun. And, as you know, laughter is the best medicine
