I've noticed that new names are popping up quite a lot recently, so wanted to say hello and welcome. Do come on here and introduce yourselves/say hello.
smile We're a friendly lot - honest!

The baby! I MUST preview!!!

Annobel Sat 10-Mar-12 16:44:48

I didn't get any booze in hospital, but my neighbour, who has had 2 hips replaced, had a champagne party in the local private hospital!

Butternut Sat 10-Mar-12 17:36:21

That's it then! Champagne private party in Super's private room. (You'll have to borrow a lap-top Super)

bagitha Sat 10-Mar-12 18:19:46

What's your fave malt, super? I've got Ardbeg in my head (nearly a rhyme!) because you did tell us once, but I'm not sure that's right. Mine's Double Matured Dalwhinnie, if anyone should happen upon a bottle they don't need.

bagitha Ardbeg Uigeadail sends us into raptures.
Butter Wouldn't a Champagne party do us all a lot of good? I don't know anyone in the village who has a lap-top. Not many off us have broadband either. Never mind, we seem to cope in spite of being behind the times. smile
nanachrissy May well heed your good advice. wink

I am with you there baggy Macallan and Dalwhinnie are two of my favorites but also like an odd Lagavullin depends on my mood.

Annobel Mon 12-Mar-12 08:23:45

I like the peaty Islay malts.

syberia Mon 12-Mar-12 09:30:31

I like the peaty one that begins with L, can't remember the name this morning, and no bottle around to refer to! I think it's from Islay

Annobel Mon 12-Mar-12 09:47:04

Laphroaig - I agree. The others are equally difficult to spell!

supernana Mon 12-Mar-12 12:01:23

Annobel Laphroaig is one of my husband's favourites. Glass Macallan is a good choice. I also like Talisker...

yogagran Mon 12-Mar-12 12:07:32

I'll drink any of them thank you very much grin

supernana Mon 12-Mar-12 12:09:17

Hello, I'm a new member - well actually joined a couple of weeks ago but haven't had time to find my way around properly yet! I'm afraid I don't like whisky, but anything else alcoholic will do!

Annobel Mon 12-Mar-12 12:39:45

Hi Anagram - it looks as if you will fit in very well! Not that we are all alcoholics by any means, but we do like a tipple, even if it's a virtual one - we are not all mad all the time! grin cheers! wine

Anagram Mon 12-Mar-12 12:43:56

Bit early for me (I'm still at work!) but look forward to joining you all in a tipple later.... smile

syberia Mon 12-Mar-12 12:48:18

Welcome Anagram flowers

jeni Mon 12-Mar-12 12:48:47

Same here!

JessM Mon 12-Mar-12 15:56:37

Some of us have pretty much given up on the real stuff but still enjoy the thought of it. How sad is that?

Annobel Mon 12-Mar-12 16:02:36

See you at sundown then, Anagram?

jeni Mon 12-Mar-12 16:18:06

Speak for yourself JessM.sunshine

Anagram Mon 12-Mar-12 16:19:43

Sundown? Are we vampires?

jeni Mon 12-Mar-12 16:23:39

I'm not . I'm an avatar! 7ft tall and blue!smile dreamily while wafting about!

Annobel Mon 12-Mar-12 16:34:36

Sundown - when I lived in a tropical country we always had a 'sundowner' (usually G&T), but there the sun always set at 6.30 give or take a few minutes. You'd think that I'd have abandoned that mindset after 40+ years back in England!

wotsamashedupjingl Mon 12-Mar-12 16:49:26

*What are we talking about now jess? smile

Anagram Mon 12-Mar-12 16:58:48

Yes, Annobel, you could get very thirsty if you waited for sundown in summer in this country!
