I don`t like whisky either, I`m a port and lemon girl, is that alright?

JessM Mon 12-Mar-12 17:11:33

hard liquor wota

Annobel Mon 12-Mar-12 17:37:16

Port and lemon? Wasn't that Ena Sharples's tipple in the early days of Corrie?

yogagran Mon 12-Mar-12 17:43:35

Takes me back to the Dubonnet and lemonade that we often drank when we were younger - thought we were so grown up!

Anagram Mon 12-Mar-12 17:56:24

My guilty pleasure is Cherry B - when I can find it in the shops!

glammanana Mon 12-Mar-12 18:00:52

When teenagers it was Cherry B and Cider,it was cheap and you always had a good time,it sent you to another planet. No wonder the 60s are all fogged up in my brain.confused

Funny how these fashions for drinks go - I used to like Babycham and Cherry B in the 60s, then it was sherry, vodka and orange, gin and tonic, then I discovered wine - very sweet wine!! Then I developed my taste buds and good red wines. I hardly touch alcohol now - perhaps 1 or 2 glasses every couple of weeks. My children (adults) have discovered pear cider, which tastes just like Babycham!

wotsamashedupjingl Mon 12-Mar-12 18:51:23

You can't beat a nice pinot.

I like pear cider too.

Anagram Mon 12-Mar-12 18:57:18

Ooh! Must try that, I used to be a big cider-drinker in the 70s and 80s...

Annobel Mon 12-Mar-12 19:07:40

The first time I got drunk was on Babycham blush. In my 20s it was G&T or beer. Nowadays, I only drink if I'm in company, and then mostly white wine, preferably pinot grigio or sauvignon blanc. Also partial to a glass of cold prosecco. Cheers! wine
