For me, it would the late Jimmy Seville, Cliff Richards, John Redwood, John Prescott, the Pope, Noel Edmonds and Ricky Gervais and Putin and all the Republican presidential candidates.

I like Alexander Armstrong in the Direct Line ads.
I agree that it is highly unlikely that Rhona would fancy Paddy, although he is supposed to be a very nice man!

Only because a few people I know, like Notsogrand seem to find him creepy. My DGS loves him and I love his enthusiasm. But I can see that some people may find him a bit strange confused

John McCarrick has got to be the most obnoxcious man I have ever seen on TV i have seen him on a few interviews and reality shows and the off button is quickly activated. Oh and Tony Blair.

nannym Mon 19-Mar-12 06:36:34

Tony Blair, Peter Andre, David Walliams.

shysal Mon 19-Mar-12 08:39:57

I used to dislike Joan Rivers, but recently saw her win Celebrity Apprentice USA, she was fantastic!
There are several annoying characters in adverts - that shouty one for double glazing, and the actor who used to play Reg Holdsworth.
Nobody has agreed with my choice of Tom Jones, am I the only one who has never thought him sexy? I certainly would not have thrown my underwear in his direction!

Greatnan Mon 19-Mar-12 08:47:27

I am with you ,shysal - I don't find Tom Jones in the least attractive. I like my men lean, dark and intellectual (or I did before giving up on them completely).

That dog that says 'Oh Yes' in a voice that suggests he has badly fitting false teeth in the Churchill Insurance ad.

Tony Blair-always. Any minor royal. Cameron and Osbourne. People who love to be in the papers eg. the Beckhams

nelliedeane Mon 19-Mar-12 10:17:11

eeerrrggghh the man from the Go compare adverts, men in socks and sandals,.oh and combovers, grey tracksuit bottoms on larger gentlemen when they bend over is not a good look. There a a few lady related cringes but have no wish to offend...especially as I am not perfect

Joan Mon 19-Mar-12 10:30:46

All four US republican candidates, Cameron, Thatcher, Tony Abbott (Australian opposition leader) the pope, all US televangelists, all shock jocks such as Rush Limburg and Australia's Alan Jones........there are others but thinking about them has given me the runs.....gotto go....

Oldgreymare Mon 19-Mar-12 10:37:57

nelliedeane totally agree about the grey tracksuit bottoms ( any light grey trousers on the 'larger man' in fact) They look like elephants from behind, large saggy, but crinkly, bottoms.
I must be grumpy old woman, my list is too long to type ( as I am a slow, two-fingered typist!!!)
But Thatcher tops the list, closely followed by McCririck!

Oldgreymare Mon 19-Mar-12 10:38:57

P.S. All those over-acting characters on children's programmes!

Elegran Mon 19-Mar-12 10:42:01

And those unctuous voice-overs on children's programmes that, if you heard them speaking to your child in real life, would have you phoning the vice squad.

Greatnan Mon 19-Mar-12 10:42:15

Yes, bring back John Noakes, Valerie Singleton and Peter Purves who treated children with respect.

Aurelia Mon 19-Mar-12 10:54:04

Michael Barrymore Tony Blair Peter Mandelson

nelliedeane Mon 19-Mar-12 10:56:33

Harry Hill....he I believe was A G.P...would come out of his surgery cured as I definiteley wouldnt be going back again.

Greatnan Mon 19-Mar-12 11:01:06

Barrymore and Mandelson and Gary Glitter. And Julian Clary for giving us too much information about his sexual activities.
Liz Jones (columnist in Mail on Sunday).

annemac101 Mon 19-Mar-12 11:09:04

John Mckririck and Noris from corrie. Also Mel B in the diet advert where she phones Jenny Craig drives me insane. The adults in on Balamory on cbeebies why do they have to be so stupid!

crimson Mon 19-Mar-12 11:43:57

I have to turn the telly off when Noel Edmonds comes on.

artygran Mon 19-Mar-12 11:45:29

John Prescott, Arthur Scargill and Vladimir Putin (both have cold, soulless eyes), Greg Wallace, Jeremy Paxman and the lady I used to live next door to!

Nannyrosie Mon 19-Mar-12 12:14:43

Sadly I can't stand the ones without real talent who just do anything for publicity and feel the world owes them a living.I like the good singers and actors who keep their personnel lives very quiet. So just a few I don't like...Jedward,Jordan,the TOWIE lot, those in shows like Big Brother and I'm a Celeb.

Maniac Mon 19-Mar-12 13:03:25

Keith Lemon

greenmossgiel Mon 19-Mar-12 13:11:43

Jimmy Saville, John McKririck, Carol Vorderman, Noel Edmunds, Cliff Richards, George Galloway....oh, hundreds really!

Greatnan Mon 19-Mar-12 13:16:38

We seem to be getting quite a consensus here! I was thinking more of real people rather than the roles played by actors - perhaps the fact that some of you object to the character just proves how good the acting is!

Anagram Mon 19-Mar-12 13:22:40

Chris Huhne - super-creepy!
