Yesterday DGS fell in a pond (and guess who was looking after him)

I fished him out really quickly, and he was very pleased with himself aferwards. smile Took great delight in showing his soaking wet self to his mum and bro. He was sailing his remote control boat we gave him for Xmas. DH had told him not to stand on that bit, but I thought it was fine. And he did say he always stands there. hmm DH had to go in and retrieve the controller.

I didn't know I could move that fast! It was a fantastic rescue! sunshine

Night jeni, safe journey.

glassortwo Fri 06-Apr-12 23:12:12

jingle I dont think for one min you were to blame, these things happen in a split second and luckily you were there. flowers

DD had taken GS1 down to Cornwall for a holiday and thought the travelling had been too much and low and behold next morning the poor little sole was covered, but his Mum has no immunity against chicken pox so even though he was breast feed he was not spared the dreaded spots.

jingle just found this thread, you are a hero, have you recovered yet from the shock..

jeni your GD is a little picture, chicken pox is terrible but the younger they are the less scratching they can do GS1 was 3months when his spots appeared, and luckily the only way he could scratch was by rubbing his head on his cot sheet and the scar is hidden buy his hair.

What rotten luck, poor bairn.

jeni Fri 06-Apr-12 20:21:02

Well. Dd has just said she would like me to go up on Monday and Wednesday to try to distract my little darling! ( she loves my iPad!)

Lovely photo, jeni - your little bit of sunshine.

supernana Fri 06-Apr-12 17:57:36

jeni what a little charmer. I can see the family resemblance. Hope she improves very soon.

bagitha Fri 06-Apr-12 17:52:45

Hope she's better soon, jeni. It's horrid for them to be ill when they can't understand what's going on.

wotsamashedupjingl Fri 06-Apr-12 17:52:30

Yes. I'm sure she does.

grin

jeni Fri 06-Apr-12 17:50:56

jeni Fri 06-Apr-12 17:49:46

wotsamashedupjingl Fri 06-Apr-12 17:44:59

Poor little girl! sad Have just seen the photo jeni. She is sooo pretty. I hope she's better soon.

supernana Fri 06-Apr-12 17:38:58

Good for you, jingle. You do what you have to do...no matter the risk.
Our wee grandson started swimming lessons at 2 months. He now has his sygnets certificate, swims underwater and can do a mean crawl.

jeni Fri 06-Apr-12 17:06:11

Did NOT mean ? Meant. . !

jeni Fri 06-Apr-12 17:05:21

Thankyou?

nanachrissy Fri 06-Apr-12 17:01:36

What a shame, poor little thing. I hate to see babies feeling unwell (((hugs))) to both of you.

Annobel Fri 06-Apr-12 16:24:51

Oh, poor baby. They find it hard to cope with chickenpox at any age, but much more so when they can't express themselves verbally. With any luck it won't last too long. flowers

My poor little dgd is very unhappy. She has caught chicken pox and at 9/12 old doesn't know what's hit her!
Offered to go up to help but I still have this cold and cough, so dd thought better not!
I'm feeling for her and feel so helpless sad

Ariadne Tue 03-Apr-12 05:24:43

When my friend took her well-behaved older son, her younger one-year-old son who hadn't started walking and absentdaughter, also one, to the park, she unstrapped the two littles from the double buggy and absentdaughter simply streaked accoss the entire length of the park, hurtled into the scented garden and jumped straight in the pond. My poor friend had to strap little one back in the buggy and charge after her with the older boy breathlessly hanging on to the handle of the buggy. Absentdaughter was also the one who fell into her Christmas tree and emerged full of prickles.

You can never tell what they are going to do next, Well done with your rescue jingl.
