Recognising other Gransnetters

Sometimes when I'm out and about I see an interesting woman of a certain age and wonder if she could be a Gransnetter. I was in London recently and kept bumping into someone who wore patterned leggings, an orange fleece and had short bright hair. She looked feisty (but all in the best possible taste). I even imagined a particular Gransnetter for that one.

Who? Who? Tell! Tell! grin

Then she can deny it wink.

Couldn't have been me - I haven't been in London since I stopped working there in 1998 (other than the airports, which are not actually in London).
I have enjoyed looking at profiles, where they are provided, and especially the photos - people are so often very different from the way I had imagined them to be from their posts.

My lips are sealed but you could probably guess smile

Greatnan Sun 08-Apr-12 10:03:03

No, please pm me!

bagitha Sun 08-Apr-12 10:05:35

Yeah, me too please. I have made a guess but it's probably wrong.

I do that too - see, or talk to someone and think she could very well be one of us. It's usually someone who shares a wry sense of humour!

I certainly don't live up to my user name this morning,I have been out for a walk with JR barney to the River front and look like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards. grin

I imagine the Gransnetters to look intellectual and artistic, possibly with short grey hair, glasses, and colourful clothes with scarves and hats....a look which I quite like by the way! grin

Annobel Sun 08-Apr-12 13:26:00

I have the glasses and the short silver (never call it grey!) hair, occasionally colourful sweaters etc. Hats for sun and cold weather but not otherwise. Don't think think this makes me look intellectual and I'm certainly not artistic!

Anagram Sun 08-Apr-12 13:27:05

No grey hair or glasses on me! grin

I like the rest of the description, though....!

nelliedeane Sun 08-Apr-12 13:30:03

Bluesky that sounds very much like the Red Hat society....are any of you "Red Hatters" if you havent heard of them google them,we did have a group in the last village I lived in that disbanded through lack of interest.I would join again if we had one locally........I know I have gone off track a bit but that is how I imagine Gransnetters to look...xxx

harrigran Sun 08-Apr-12 13:31:04

BlueSky you are not describing me either. No grey hair and I wear black jeans and boots, can't stand hats either grin

bagitha Sun 08-Apr-12 13:36:41

I have a red gen-yoo-ine Basque beret. Can I join, nellie? [rushes off to google]

jeni Sun 08-Apr-12 13:37:35

I have put a profile pic up, so it ain't me folks! Anyway only the glasses bit is right? I am neither intellectual or artistic!
I'm 7ft and a fetching shade of turquoise!
