Good Morning all! sunshine

JessM Sun 27-May-12 10:31:23

Glad to hear things are improving oxon - 2 hospital appointments in one day would tax anyone.
Well done for getting down there Jeni - enjoy your GD

jeni Sun 27-May-12 10:20:34

Well, I've just been on the floor!
Intentionallygrin
DDGD demanded granny got on the floor while mummy was upstairs doing something.
So being a good obedient granny I did as demanded! Trouble was getting up againconfused had to wit til DD came down to assist blush

Aren't grandchildren a delight?sunshine

Oxon70 Sun 27-May-12 09:55:08

Thanks folks. I will.
(I took a library book....and finished it.) sunshine

Ariadne Sun 27-May-12 09:49:15

Do relax*Oxon*! sunshine

Annobel Sun 27-May-12 09:46:56

How frustrating for you Oxon. I hope you had something to absorb you while you waited. I try to remember to take a book or a paper because I've come to accept that waiting is inevitable but and hour and a half is excessive. Have a lovely day - enjoy the sunshine while you can.

Oxon70 Sun 27-May-12 09:41:18

Hello again all. Lovely morning but now getting too hot! I was watering the garden at 7am and doing a bit of weeding...any more will have to wait until it's cooler.

I think I spent yesterday NOT thinking about my hospital visits, so not posting!
I will only say that the worst bit was when, having arrived in time (3.40) for the second one, I had to wait another hour and a half.
They say I am doing all right, gave me yet more pills and I may have to have Fragmin injections.
I've also been trying to catch up on my housework and garden work. Still tired.
But - a lovely day and I can relax.
Hope the day is going well for everyone else too.

Oldgreymare Sun 27-May-12 08:51:58

Bez if you haven't set off yet, defo Rouen, probably longer but much quieter. Came back thro Paris a couple of years ago and the OG nearly nearly had a major health incident (p.c.) AND he was the passenger AND it wasn't because of MY driving!!!
Glass glad you can crack-on!
Ella enjoy Abersoch and Ariadneenjoy the count...... all in the sunshine!

Mamie Sun 27-May-12 08:48:47

Good luck Bez - I would go via Rouen and avoid Paris if I were you! Thank goodness this is the last of the bank holidays for a while; I really think four in one month is too many, especially when you add in the bridging days to the weekend. Our post here is hopeless at the moment - what use is the Radio Times to me on Tuesday?
Back in UK, DD and DGD (nine) are running the Race for Life today.

syberia Sun 27-May-12 08:45:17

Ariadne hope the walk goes well
Bez have a lovely holiday
Glass have a great day at the house

And "Good Morning" to everyone else! Enjoy the sunshine! I am off out into the garden with breakfast x

glassortwo Sun 27-May-12 08:30:16

We have the extension up to 1st lift and we need to finish the concrete floor in one area of the original house, over the summer we would like the extension finished. Then the foundations in for the garden room and then over the winter we can concentrate on the interior work without worry of the weather.
Feels good to get into it again after such a miserable winter up there. smile

Ella46 Sun 27-May-12 08:25:15

Morning Glass no doubt it will feel good to get stuck in! Where are you up to with it all?

Ella46 Sun 27-May-12 08:23:20

That should be you have a good time!! grin

glassortwo Sun 27-May-12 08:22:20

Good morning all sunshine sunshine sunshine
bez I hope the car clears for you so you can get on and enjoy your holiday.
ariadne enjoy your day in the sunshine.
We are going up to the house to get straightened up for a full weekend of work next weekend, looking forward to doing something as we have been held off with the weather for so long.

Ella46 Sun 27-May-12 08:22:10

Bez that is sooo annoying isn't it? Probably nothing but makes you nervous!
I've just had mine serviced and I'm off to Abersoch tomorrow (not quite Calais!) so I hope mine is ok hmm

Anyway, I have a good time wine sunshine

whenim64 Sun 27-May-12 08:21:24

Good luck with the Walk for Water Ariadne. sunshine

Bez Sun 27-May-12 07:21:04

So far sitting in hotel bedroom in Calais and thinking about the drive ahead - shall we go through Paris or over to Rouen and south? Lovely sunshine here too.
DH not too pleased as car had service about 10 days ago at the dealership and we have a warning light about the particulate filter - something to do with unburnt stuff from the diesel - may be able to clear it as we drive but according to the book shouldn't have happened - if it goes red we shall need to book in somewhere for two nights as bank holiday here tomorrow. Fingers crossed!!

Ariadne Sun 27-May-12 06:43:42

Good morning everyone! It is good to be awake on such a lovely day! We have our Walk for Water this morning (Rotary again!) "Walk for Water so they don't have to" (picture of a woman carrying the water bowl on her head)

It is in a beautiful part of the Kent countryside and, since there is no way I could cover 10k with my achy bones, I shall sit in a lay by, with the roof of my little car down, and check people through while enjoying the sunshine. sunshine

gracesmum Sat 26-May-12 11:26:57

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Better retire to lounger in garden.[sunshine] Why no sunshine???

Ella46 Sat 26-May-12 11:23:20

grace it was the middle of the night! You are allowed to be a bit muddled smile

Butternut Sat 26-May-12 11:18:16

grace - This is the Vol. 2 thread of "Anyone else up yet" - I expect you tried to post on the first one. smile

gracesmum Sat 26-May-12 11:06:00

Tries to post on this in the wee sma' hours (see other thread) and was told it had reached ots maximum - hence starting again.
Puzzled emoticon ;-~

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Sat 26-May-12 10:28:36

Hi Dorset - yes, exactly what Bags and Ella46 have said. Nothing at all to worry about but a few thinks that are being ironed out asap

Butternut Sat 26-May-12 10:28:11

Think there's a bit of a scrabble going on at GNHQ, because......

"...The Information Commissioner (ICO) had given British websites a year's grace period to comply with the new legislation, which expires this weekend....."

Maybe GNHQ have been 'caught short'. :-0 + [grin]!

Bags Sat 26-May-12 09:50:44

Cookie law has changed, that's all. It will affect all sites you go to. Some won't have glitches though.

Ella46 Sat 26-May-12 09:36:46

There was a bit of a glitch (possibly due to the new cookies) but they are sorting it now, they are bona fide as far as I know Dorset
The emos aren't working yet though!
