GA such a relief isn't it when you see them on their way........wink

baubles Wed 31-Oct-12 08:20:57

Just off to work now but it occurred to me that many of us seem to check in here soon after awakening. It's as if we are saying good morning to an extended family smile. So good morning all and I hope the day brings you peace.

Ella46 Wed 31-Oct-12 08:03:55

Wonderful news grannya and a great relief to you I'm sure sunshine

Jodi Wed 31-Oct-12 07:05:05

kittylester Wed 31-Oct-12 06:56:11

ga great news.

Greatnan Wed 31-Oct-12 06:04:31

GA - what splendid news. It is so hard for people to get a job these days, no matter how bright and qualified they are. Congratulations to your son. Doubles all round, I think!

Here's hoping Mishap is feeling a bit better today.

Learnergran seems to have coped well with the funeral - I hope she stays with us.

flowers to all my cyber friends who might be feeling down.

baubles Wed 31-Oct-12 05:50:56

That's fabulous news for you grannyactivist smile

Granny23 Wed 31-Oct-12 01:18:22

Great News GA. Thanks for sharing it with us - just what is needed in the midst of doom and gloom. sunshine

grannyactivist Wed 31-Oct-12 01:02:44

grin My son, who is getting married in less than two weeks, got the job he was interviewed for yesterday. I cannot describe my immense relief that after all his hard work he now has his feet firmly on a career path.
My son, the accountant! hmmwink

AlieOxon Mon 29-Oct-12 13:38:22

Yes, it is. Thanks ga

kittylester Mon 29-Oct-12 13:34:46

Good luck to your son GA and to your neighbour Alie flowers

grannyactivist Mon 29-Oct-12 13:31:31

This is helpful Alie.

AlieOxon Mon 29-Oct-12 13:29:55

Have a good day in Edinburgh, meeters-up!

My neighbour has had what is probably bad news about her lung. Now she has to have a PET scan - anyone can tell me about this?

grannyactivist Mon 29-Oct-12 13:21:51

Interview done and apparently went well. He will be informed in a week about whether he got the job. He's got two other interviews lined up for similar jobs.

annodomini Mon 29-Oct-12 10:09:18

Good luck to your son, GA. Where's that fingers crossed emoticon?

grannyactivist Mon 29-Oct-12 10:04:50

flowers for people having a difficult day or coping with worrying situations.

My eldest son has a job interview today. It would be very nice if he got it as he's getting married in twelve days time and currently has no job and no home to take his bride to. hmm Well, I suppose technically he has because they're going to be living on the top floor of my house until they find somewhere they can afford to rent, but still it would be better for them to get a place of their own. So, I'm now on tenterhooks.

harrigran Mon 29-Oct-12 09:53:15

whitwave and gracesmum flowers

harrigran Mon 29-Oct-12 09:52:00

GD up early this morning, I thought it was 6am and sent her back to bed then realised it was my clock that was wrong, it was 7am. Every toy in the room was on the floor and she had drawn two pictures to while away the time smile

annodomini Mon 29-Oct-12 09:10:35

whitewave, gracesmum, thinking of you and you OHs today. flowers

learnergran, a hard day for you and my thoughts are with you too. ((((hugs)))) and flowers

Sook Mon 29-Oct-12 09:01:26

Take care of yourself whitewave. Walking the dog or dogs in my case is good therapy. I come home feeling much better for the fresh air and a chat with other walkers.

Ella46 Mon 29-Oct-12 08:35:09

whitewave (((hugs))) hope he's ok.

Damp and very autumnal here in Cheshire, and the builders next door have been drilling walls and banging since 8!

janeainsworth Mon 29-Oct-12 08:27:17

We had the mist and gloom yesterday but it's a beautiful bright morning here in Northumberland - time to rake up all the wet leaves in the garden and use the special leaf bags I've got from the RHS.

Oldgreymare Mon 29-Oct-12 08:20:35

whitewave hoping you both get good news!
My 'bodyclock' is completely out of sync. I shall probably need a power nap this afternoon. hmm

whitewave Mon 29-Oct-12 07:58:01

The awful thing is that a month ago he appeared so well walking up to 8 miles a day with the dog doing his woodwork and generally poddling happily along. He doesn't drink or smoke and eats loads of veg and fruit a day.
