jingare you having a grumpy fit?
Come on.
In these bleak times, let's have a bit of fun with something!
I'm going to be on my own all weekend, but I'm still going to raise a wine
This is not like you?
What's wrong?

j04 Fri 01-Jun-12 21:17:17

sickly sweet smile

Anagram Fri 01-Jun-12 21:16:21

How lovely to see you again, Jingl!

j04 Fri 01-Jun-12 21:13:30

And all these silly emoticons are patronising.

j04 Fri 01-Jun-12 21:12:29

And flags should flutter. Or wave.

j04 Fri 01-Jun-12 21:11:07

Especially with that peachy Academy thing next to it.

It's getting sick making.

j04 Fri 01-Jun-12 21:09:59

It clashes.

The queen celebrated her 60 years on the throne on 6th February, but I suppose the weather would not have been too good then for the parties.

When I was a brownie i learned all about the flag. upright red and white st george's, diagonal red and white, st patricks, diagonal white and blue, st andrews. and it MUST be flown with the broad white stripe nearest the flagpole and not dropped on the ground. and there is a special knot that comes undone and unfurls the rolled up flag when you pull the cord. So far so good. Passed the test.
As Welsh brownies though we did notice that there was something missing from this flag. Miffed. Permanently. Sorry!
Am thinking of getting a welsh flag to hang outside if Dai Green or any other welsh person makes it into an olympics athletics final. But until then we will stay flag free. have fun folks.

Well I have to do it too! Our Pilates class this morning was great fun with red, white and blue ribbon waving, and getting into the mood. Plenty going on in the locality so will be taking the GC to festivities over the weekend as well as viewing the seals at Blakeney Point! Weather looks dire..... Enjoy yourselves fellow GN.

I shall be putting the union flag up later! The neighbours here will think I'm crazy but that's nothing new . I think they think of me as that crazy English woman.[flag crown]

Hurrah for crown and Union Flag flag Really looking forward to the flotilla. We were lucky enough to see the Hereford trow (boat used on the River Wye) being constructed in Gloucester docks. It was built with trees from Hereford; the builder chose the trees! They were restoring a fire-boat that put out the fire during the war at St Pauls to go in the flotilla too. Tomi Neilson who built the trow is rowing it. He also did the plumbing for the Queen's barge. flag flag ready!!

Our little area has come out well in the bunting range - I love it and I'm putting bunting in the shape of union jacks in my front window. Why not? The Americans show their flags as part of being patriotic so why not us Brits.
crown and flag. On a visit to my son and his family I was lucky enough to see the Gloriana moored at Richmond. It looked grand all red and gold.

Yay! flag

Very colourful and cheering, as if Gransnet isn't always a delight. Walking through the centre of the town where I live this morning, I was amazed to see that virtually everywhere had been bunted. Very colourful and cheering. flag

Listened to BBC Newcastle this morning asking why it was great to be British[flag} and the answer I heard was we have great car boot sales. Turned off the radio at that point. I still, in spite of that level of intelligence on BBC Newcastle, believe that to be born British is to have gained the winning lottery ticket of life. Just been up to the far north of Scotland -hardly a Scot around at all but the Swiss Dutch Hungarians French Kiwis and Aussies saying what a wonderful place to work and play

Love the bunting and the flags. was a bit indifferent to the whole thing, but now thanks to DGD and DGS who are going to be with us this weekend, the house is festooned in red white and blue and she,Lily, is bringing her own flags to wave. I am baking a cake which we will decorate with red white and blue. Sheis so excited, I couldn't disappoint her- I don't think her brother at three is aware of it all. Weather permitting, we are off to a street party on Sunday.crown flag
