Kind phone call

Staying with my DS and DDiL this weekend, I made a point of telling them how lucky I am to have them. I have read so many tales of grans who are put upon or ignored in some way that I do appreciate them and my other DS and his partner. They all deserve a pat on the back.

What good advice for us all Mishap and how nice that your daughter let you know that she appreciates your view on things. Good for you that you have kept your true thoughts to yourself. This approach certainly fosters good relations between the generations.

Yes - I took it as a reminder to say the things that sometimes we just think - the good things that is!
I will "enjoy the moment" - something good to think on when life gets up and bites you!

How lovely for you 'Mishap'. She sounds like a lovely girl. This is a reminder to us all to tell our loved ones how much we appreciate them. My DH just brought me a cup of tea into my study and I said, "you are good to me". He said, "its mutual". Seven appreciative words signed off our day with a smile.

DD seems to take it fine. Doesn't always act on it, mind you. But I think it quite often goes in.

Not much to criticise with her though. She's a good mum.

How lovely! Perhaps she is wondering if she has taken you for granted sometimes and wanted you to know she does know you have held back. Enjoy the moment!

Yes, it is! Especially if, like me, you sometimes feel that perhaps you are taking too much of a back seat! Getting the balance right can be tricky - you've obviously got it right, Mishap.
