Addicted again!

I was addicted to Gransnet before I went to Spain for a week last month. When I came home the addiction had gone and I only came on for a look a couple of times a day. Then I started doing the odd post and now it's back to logging on every half hour when I'm in the house.

All my family know about Gransnet. For a start I'm always rushing off with the latest good joke. A friend sends me texts saying 'get off Gransnet now' (he's joking).

Is anybody else addicted and does it matter?

glamma, my friend's son found jobs abroad by way of The Lady adverts. He never really came back properly...confused....think he's in Nepal again, now! smile

You realise, green, that now everyone knows how mean we are! blush

greenmossgiel Fri 22-Jun-12 17:54:16

We slipped up there, didn't we, Anagram! I was really just trying to save paper, though wink!

I subscribe on line, the same as I do for good food, olive, nationa geographic, telegraph and the bmj.
Otherwise I'd have to have an extra green bin!

jeni I do find I blink a lot when I emerge into the light. And I find it increasingly frustrating that I can't just press a button saying "home" and get there.

You lot have seen the article in print! I'm having to wait until copy comes thro' post [maybe tomorrow]. So pleased you approve. It's difficult to get so much that matters into 900 words. Bags was kind enough to proof read it for me. Thanks, Bags flowers

I know that feeling. I pressed the button on the table in court in front of me, and in rushed the security men, rather than me being transported home.blush

soop Fri 22-Jun-12 18:24:28

absent thanks for enlightening me smile
nellie...you are a LOVELY lady [and funny with it!] grin

I can't get your article on line, soop sad. Do I have to pay to see it??

jeni Fri 22-Jun-12 18:40:35

Yes!smile

jeni Fri 22-Jun-12 18:42:14

But think! It's paying one of soops children's wages!smile

Anagram Fri 22-Jun-12 18:51:09

Goodness! How much does one copy of The Lady cost then? confused

j04 Fri 22-Jun-12 18:57:28

I think I might have the £4 worth, for 4 issues. It looks like there is quite a lot in it. It would be delivered weekly by post.

I think you can probably see just gone past issues online but not the current one, which would have soop's article in it. It's not like a firewall - like the Times.

Or am I wrong there?

Anagram Fri 22-Jun-12 19:02:01

Oh, that's not bad then. Soop's children must have modest requirements.

j04 Fri 22-Jun-12 19:33:47

That must be on the i-pad that jeni gets it.

jeni Fri 22-Jun-12 20:03:19

Yep!

Maniac Fri 22-Jun-12 22:00:31

jeni laughed about you pressing wrong button.Happened to me when working in prison ! Switched off light to go for my coffee break. Security men rushed in-light switch was security alarm.
Back to addiction.I'm addicted to playing bridge online but GN runs it very close.
Watching Simon Schama's Shakespeare at the same time as catching up on this site.

Look forward to seeing you again! Have a possible nibble for 4places on the galilee trip!

jeni got the app - thanks for the hint.

soop lovely article; you do us justice. And I love the idea of being a "Webgran"!

soop Sat 23-Jun-12 11:18:12

You lot tickle me pink! My copy has been delivered. If only I'd sent a pic taken with Bags...we were slurping wine in celebration of Gransnet...so appropriate, methinks. grin

I'm having a wee weep. Was busy reading the GN article and had skipped the editor's letter. Went to it, saw my Nana's photo and read a very sweet and fitting tribute to her sense of style. Made my day. smile

soop flowers

greenmossgiel Sat 23-Jun-12 13:38:28

I now have to wait until Monday before I can pick up my copy - our wee village newsagent only tends to stock the 'tabloid-type' magazines, so I'll need to nip down to the town centre to get my Lady (Mi'lady!) grin

soop Sat 23-Jun-12 13:48:20

green Bless you. If I could, I'd be happy to lend my copy to you. smile
I've discovered that the article has been cropped. Editor makes final decision. Sorry therefore, that not all matters relating to Grans saddened by lack of interaction with their own offspring or grandchildren, lost some impact. I did try my best...

greenmossgiel Sat 23-Jun-12 13:51:54

soop - it will be wonderful, just the same. We'll be able to read between those lines that were cut, so don't be bothered about it. We know how you write, and what you'll have written, even without seeing it all! smile
