My "baby" (i.e. my youngest D) has just been round with some exciting and quite unexpected news - she is 9 weeks pregnant - babe due in January.

We really thought that she and her OH were not planning a family - how wring could we be!

We are thrilled!

That's really lovely news, Mishap! I felt like you when my eldest daughter told me that she was pregnant - she and her partner had appeared to have no interest in having children, and when she phoned me with the news I was so happy! flowers

Thank you for your good wishes - the last time she was round here she was discussing getting a dog, so I thought any idea of babies was off the agenda for now at least. If all goes well, we have 6 GC then! Can't think when all this happened - I still think of myself as if I am in my mid-30s.

As we had not expected her to have any, it was even more of a thrill.

As I heaved a bundle of clean washing into the airing cupboard I thought to myself 'It's a long time since I held a baby in my arms' so I really envy you all these lovely new babies. My granchildren range from 16 to 23 so probably a bit longer to wait!

How lovely, Mishap and golden - so much to look forward to!

Hunt we had a visit from a baby (and his parents) on Saturday and I just had to hold him! Our youngest DGC is 5 and I don't think there will be more babies.

Mishap & golden I'm so happy for both of you, I remember how I felt when I got such news and hope I will repeat it in a few years. Do keep us all up to date with progress.

Shouldn't we have a baby emoticon?
