Happy to log on after a short break in London. I've missed you all. Have masses to catch up on. Will need to return later to tell you all about our trip. For all the pain of the journey down, it was a marvellous treat and we've returned with some sooper memories.

Good morning to you lot. A little good news to share with you. The Big House [in which we've been p/t staff for some time now] is being refurbished in grand style. Hence our jobs have been put on hold. A friend who runs a guest house in the village, has offered us both a few hours work each week [with a pay rise] and we start on Tuesday. Very pleased as the 'visit to see Wee Man fund' will begin to look healthier. grin

After my "clearing up" and deadheading we hung some pictures we bought on holiday they are chinese with script for "happiness" , "wisdom" , and " harmony " they are black and white which I have taken to , of late , and look super. Remind me of all the lovely chinese people we meet on our travels , they are great , the chinese that is , always laughing , like me smile

Great news Soop!

Foraging! I got a big bag of wild raspberries on my morning walk. Free food tastes so good! I always carry a plastic bag in my back pack - never know what you might find.

Soops - good news re your new employment.
My grand-daughter posted on FaceBook that she now has a part-time job in a local bar/restaurant which means she is no longer dependent on her mother in any way. Her fiance is a postman, so they have no childcare problems.

Nonu Sun 15-Jul-12 17:37:58

Thank you Soop for your smile , here"s mine back smile x

I think that my silver/brass/copper cleaning session, together with Mr soop's ironing and bathroom cleaning efforts [during our friend's absence] persuaded our pal that we're honest down to earth workers. When told that we're also to have a 'pay rise' we did a high-five. grin

Nonu a very happy note on which to say farewell until tomorrow. smile If anyone gets to say anything to Nellie, then please pass on my love and tell her that her absence bothers me somethin' awful. flowers

Doing very little - been traveling + visitors for 5 weeks now. Loved every minute of it, but I am cream-crackered and just need a flop. Daughter numero deux arriving from Tenerife on Tuesday evening for indeterminate time, so will try not to do too much tomorrow, apart from cleaning the whole house and doing the ironing! LOL.

Greatnan Sun 15-Jul-12 17:51:24

Granjura - why not leave the ironing to give your daughter something to do. smile

Ella46 Sun 15-Jul-12 17:53:54

soop pleased for you both! sunshine

I've had my dd staying overnight, and my dgds stayed with my ds in order to get to know darling baby cousin. My ds and dd were not on speaking terms, but after ds came to drop off the girls this afternoon, things seemed to mellow a little. I am living in hope as my dd is heartbroken that she cannot see the baby.
However, we did all have a lovely time, dd got a lovely lunch and a lot of rest and sleep (badly needed), I got one to one time with her (also badly needed) and dgds had a great time with their cousins! smile

Just want to be a happy family for once smile

Nonu Sun 15-Jul-12 17:57:22

Granjura , don"t wear yourself out , try if at all possible , to get a little "me" time . We , well I do ! need it from time to time

Greatnan Sun 15-Jul-12 18:01:20

Nonu - Granjura doesn't do 'me' time - she is always worrying about somebody else's welfare (I am not objecting, I am often the beneficiary!)

Nonu Sun 15-Jul-12 18:09:27

Ah !smile! well it was just a little thought !!

Greatnan Sun 15-Jul-12 18:11:39

The daft thing is that nearly all my time is 'me' time!

Annobel Sun 15-Jul-12 18:45:01

I took GD out to lunch at an Italian restaurant. Lovely rigatoni with smoked salmon in a creamy sauce followed by - oh dear! - tiramisu. She needed a good feed because she is working for her landlord repainting and cleaning his student houses ready for the start of the new term and says she never gets round to eating. Had a mooch round John Lewis which is so full of posh beauty products nowadays that I couldn't find any hairspray; but Sainsbury's is next door...

Greatnan Sun 15-Jul-12 18:46:38

Annobel - that would be my ideal lunch.
