who mentioned on here about the, possibly, rightful king of England living in Australia?

well, he's died

Should we all go into mourning?

jeni Fri 06-Jul-12 16:17:50

His heir is called Simon but we already have a King Simon....from the house of Cowell confused

I think it's a wonderful story. What would actually happen if the new 'King' decided to oust our current Royal family? Would there be any support? Would he end up hiding in an oak eucalyptus tree a la Charles II? What would the Aussies think of his claim? It would make a good film / novel

crimson Fri 06-Jul-12 22:18:45

King Bruce doesn't sound right.

I must confess it was me, I thought I had stopped that thread in its tracks, it went very silent. I though now they will never speak to me for spoiling their illusions to the pretenders Royal Family. hmm

Faye. I'm glad you did mention it, I think! I spent hours online wasting time trying to work out who married who, and who was the son of which one, and who got killed in battle! confused

None the wiser now really. grin

Thanks anyway. smile

I am please you enjoyed it jingle. During the time I lived in Caversham I started reading Jean Plaidy books around the time of Henry VIII's daughter's Mary and Anne. It is all quite fascinating, but still hard to work out who came where. smile

I loved Jean Plaidy books and learned a lot of my history from her.

So did I, goldengirl and Anya Seton's Katharine.
