Then, of course there is the problem of me constantly putting the remote contoller down and forgetting where it is [or where 'they' are as I've got a telly on in each room]. Perhaps have them tied round my neck like glasses or one of those gardening aprons with pockets?

JessM Wed 01-Aug-12 13:49:48

Alie I just made it up. The word.
Some people I know refer to the remote control as The Channeliser - in an Irish accent it sounds particularly good.

AlieOxon Wed 01-Aug-12 16:03:55

Jess that's what i thought.

crimson Wed 01-Aug-12 16:13:32

I honestly thought it was going to be a race too far, especially as he's expended a lot of energy helping his team mates recently. Chuffed to bits for him [and us]. He's so quintessentially British in a Roy of the Rovers/ Stanley Bagshaw sort of way, isn't he!

Fantastic day for Team GB, can't tear myself away from TV, watching it all, and now Bradley...... flag

Nonu Wed 01-Aug-12 16:16:52

Wigo , you are TOTALLY AWESOME MAN , A Million cheers to you . Sir ??? I have been really lucky this afternoon to see 2 super stars in their own fields , that is more than lucky . Think a libation is called for later on

JessM Wed 01-Aug-12 16:18:42

Brilliant !!! Totally brilliant. And a bronze.

GoldenGran Wed 01-Aug-12 16:21:38

Both medals are brilliant, but I just couldn't watch it, I so wanted him to win. I can't imagine what it is like to be his family watching. flag flag

Superb result from both! grin

As one commentator said............."He has wings on his wheels, has Bradley Wiggins!"

Wonderful.

JessM Wed 01-Aug-12 17:29:28

Rather have tea with Bradley than dinner with Boris any day of the week! smile
We should not forget - mens rowing 8 got a bronze. smile

merlotgran Wed 01-Aug-12 17:32:28

Grandmanorm Wed 01-Aug-12 17:34:51

Anybody else holding their breath whilst watching the men's gymnastics?
It is so exciting.

JessM Wed 01-Aug-12 17:59:08

I was holding my breath during Bradley's ride - in case some nutter jumped at him. Time to turn the gymnastics on then.

Maniac Wed 01-Aug-12 20:02:58

Well done Wiggy -and your mate Chris.I missed the actual finish but saw the medals ceremony.
Sportsman of the year I reckon.

whitewave Wed 01-Aug-12 20:14:57

Arise Sir Wiggens!

POGS Wed 01-Aug-12 20:32:20

I am so pleased they have kicked out the 4 teams in the badminton. They may have technically not broken any rules but their attempt to LOOSE their game was a disgrace to the spirit of the games.

How fantastic to watch the rowing. I wonder if Heather will return to her unit in Afghanistan?. What a woman!.

merlotgran Wed 01-Aug-12 20:50:11

How wonderful to see a clip of the soldiers in her unit cheering their heads off, POGS. A great boost for them flag

POGS Wed 01-Aug-12 20:56:22

merlotgran

Yes it was, they all do us proud don't they.

whenim64 Wed 01-Aug-12 21:29:17

I coudn't believe my eyes when I saw those badminton players NOT playing. I wonder what consequences they will face when they return home?

POGS Wed 01-Aug-12 22:44:32

Whenim64

I must admit that thought went to my mind also. hmm

whenim64 Thu 02-Aug-12 15:42:08
