Nicking Consumer testing a bit of Comte from the fridge, I got to wondering which out of cheese or chocolate I could not live without. I think in my case it would be cheese, but what do you think?
(And isn't it strange that they both wreck diets and both begin with "ch" - as does chardonnay!!!) smile

Cheese, cheese, cheese!
Definitely cheese! grin

Why choose, when you can have both? grin

Or all three grin

Mmm - not sure, to be honest. I like them both equally, but it depends on my mood. And, for me, it has to be Cheddar. I think I am the only person I know who used to take huge slabs of Cheddar cheese with me to France when we went there on holiday. I loved the bread, but it had to have some nice tasty Cheddar on it. At the start of the holiday I would generously allow the rest of the family some of my cheese, but by the end I was eeking it out!

Right on, When! I'm with you. wink

That's not playing the game! [sniff]

Alright Anagram - I suppose when it comes down to it, I could never live without cheese - Brie, Port Salut, Stilton, Compte, Haloumi, Gruyere....I love them all. My idea of heaven is a light meal followed by a hefty cheeseboard grin

Definately cheese. Probably my favourite food. When I first left home I think I lived on Edam and apples. Edam doesn't taste as good as it did then, though. In fact, I now want to eat some and may have to go shopping to do so.

Chocolate chocolate chocolate. Love cheese but no contest. Sadly for my body.

I once went on a de-tox diet that was dairy free. It was supposed to be for six months (I know, ridiculous). The advert for Cathedral City on toast cut right through my will power. I love it. grin

Cheeese, cheese, cheese. Strong cheese.

granjura Wed 08-Aug-12 15:56:20

Both - but the cheese has to be very good- no point in getting calories from tasteless rubbery cheese. And the chocolate dark, 70%. Both in small amounts but chewed slowly and with relish.

Gracemum I live in Comté and Gruyère, Morbier, Tomme country - but I also love a really good cheddar, Stilton or Red Leicester.

Ella46 Wed 08-Aug-12 16:01:12

Definitely Cheese for me, no contest!
Cheese and bacon
cheese on toast
cheese on jacket spud
cheese and onion
just cheese!!!!

granjura Wed 08-Aug-12 16:49:10

Now look what YOU have made me do! Just had a (small) lump of our local Gruyère and a square of dark sesame seed chocolate!

absentgrana Wed 08-Aug-12 16:59:31

Can't be bothered with chocolate but love cheese. I have a special fondness for Stinking Bishop as it's made by a small cheesemaker and so not a lot is around each year. However, I have my source …

Annobel Wed 08-Aug-12 17:00:09

Now then, granjura, just whom are you accusing of twisting your arm? confused

jeni Wed 08-Aug-12 17:29:59

Cheese!grin

Ariadne Wed 08-Aug-12 17:34:06

Oh cheese, definitely! Almost everything apart from very strong blues.

They make a lot of fabulous cheese in my old home country.
They make a lot of fabulous cheese in France.
They make a lot of fabulous cheese in Italy.
And so on, and so on.

But the King of cheese has to be Stilton.
For me anyway.

granjura Wed 08-Aug-12 19:17:52

One foot in Stilton country and one in Gruyères/Comté - definitely the best of both smile

Annobel Wed 08-Aug-12 19:34:28

Blue cheese - Stilton, Gorgonzola, Cashel Blue... and various ones I've encountered on holiday and have no idea what they're called. The really stinky sheep's ones in Corsica are great but are never seen outside the island.
