for plugging her book in an article in the DT same as some of us did with Jilly Cooper in the DM?

Bags Mon 20-Aug-12 10:41:37

Not to mention questioning her taste in hairstyles.

wink

I mean it though hmm

susiecb Mon 20-Aug-12 10:55:58

who is she?

AlisonMA Mon 20-Aug-12 10:57:48

I haven't seen her in Dancing Times, what page is she on? grin

Bags Mon 20-Aug-12 10:58:25

alison grin

Anagram Mon 20-Aug-12 10:58:45

I think susiecb has answered your question, Bags! wink

susie, a historian. The article is, well, a bit interesting, about the wives of Henry VIII and their modern equivalents. Bit daft really, though appealing to some.

Bags Mon 20-Aug-12 10:59:59

And yes, pedants, I do mean to say A historian because I voice the aitch.

Oldgreymare Mon 20-Aug-12 11:01:36

blush... I read the article ( thanks for the link Bags) and quite enjoyed it..... oh dear!

Bags Mon 20-Aug-12 11:03:01

ogm and * nag* grin

Lilygran Mon 20-Aug-12 11:05:35

Why does she keep dressing up?

JO4 Mon 20-Aug-12 11:36:41

Interesting what one of the comments says about Anne of Cleves. I never thought of her like that before.

I would have been Catherine Parr.

JO4 Mon 20-Aug-12 11:37:15

Sorry Bags. Not in the spirit of your post!

My granny had that hairstyle.

Anagram Mon 20-Aug-12 11:43:18

Oh, dear, I fear I am Catherine of Aragon...confused

Grannylin Mon 20-Aug-12 11:46:00

I'm definitely Anne Boleyn!

absentgrana Mon 20-Aug-12 13:06:23

I think she would be better sticking to history rather than trying to make parallels with contemporary feminism. I thought the article (and quiz) was infantile.

JO4 Mon 20-Aug-12 13:07:30

Ooooh! Get you ^absent*! grin

soop Mon 20-Aug-12 13:39:45

Lucy appears to be too good to be true. Can't help wondering whether or not she has any naughty habits...hmm

Anagram Mon 20-Aug-12 13:51:01

I'm not quite sure what you mean, soop - on what are you basing your opinion? I didn't get any sense of Lucy Worsley's character at all from that article...

Anagram Mon 20-Aug-12 13:52:36

Or do you mean she just looks like a Goody Two Shoes? grin

jeni Mon 20-Aug-12 14:23:48

I'm a k. Parr!

Ella46 Mon 20-Aug-12 15:02:59

Well, I'm none of those women.
I had to laugh though at the picture, underneath it said " L to R Lucy W and Henry V111"
Didn't they think we would be able to tell the difference? grin

nightowl Mon 20-Aug-12 15:07:39

I don't think of Anne of Cleves like that at all. I have read her biography which presented her as 'the one who got off lightest'. She retained her head (!) as well as an income from Henry and a warm relationship with him. I believe she lived as an independent woman with her own household - unusual in Tudor England. So I'll be her thanks; I don't mind being ugly as long as I don't have to sleep with a fat ugly old man grin

Nonu Mon 20-Aug-12 15:23:36
