for plugging her book in an article in the DT same as some of us did with Jilly Cooper in the DM?

Ana I meant "looks like." I'm sure that she's a thoroughly decent young lady. She just reminds me of a head girl...jolly hockey sticks and all that.

Well they won't show up Nonu if you do it like that! hmm

wink

Anagram Mon 20-Aug-12 16:10:03

Yes...I'm not sure I'm comfortable with her knowing smile, though...confused

soop Mon 20-Aug-12 16:12:10

A little like Rory's happy grin after he's licked his dish clean. grin

She certainly knows her stuff but she drives me to distraction. Do you think her smug smile is because she's laughing at herself.

I've suddenly realised who LW is. That one who did the series on various rooms throughout history. Wears a slide in her hair and grins engagingly.

I did like her. Seems to know her stuff. Very head girlish.

JO4 Mon 20-Aug-12 16:39:51

Nonu have you been missing all the blue links?! hmm

Nonu Mon 20-Aug-12 16:46:40

What blue links ???

Bags Mon 20-Aug-12 16:52:25

I think she looks as if she talks with her back teeth clenched together. Weird.

soop Mon 20-Aug-12 17:09:37

Someone described Lucy as being "the thinking man's totty"...hmm

gracesmum Mon 20-Aug-12 17:13:13

She knows her stuff but epitomises a trend I hate in history/historical houses/social history - i.e. that yu have to "dress up" and "pretend" to be of that period to learn about it. I have seen some of the evidence in the revamped Kensington Palace and certain National Trust houses not to mention all those TV progs where people pretend it's WW2 or whatever - and it irritates me

nanaej Mon 20-Aug-12 17:45:15

I enjoy her programmes though I have not seen the more recent ones where she has been made to dress up! I don't mind the programmes where families try to live 'as if..' think it gives quite a good perspective on the realities of what life was like rather than an historian just saying 'they cooked on a wood burning range' To see exactly what that entailed can bring it home more clearly!

I prefer Mary Beard!

soop Mon 20-Aug-12 18:23:26

Ana Is she the pretty girl with curly hair?

jeni Mon 20-Aug-12 18:31:27

I think she has long straggly grey hair, but good on history!

feetlebaum Mon 20-Aug-12 18:32:35

Who is Lucy Worsley? Curator of the Royal Palaces - historian.

Mischievous, with an most appealing grin and a cute bobbed hair-style, I think she, like Mary Beard, is a breath of fresh air. A musical voice with a slight impediment, a soft 'R', is attractibve, too.

The 'dressing-up' isn't all for her enjoyment - the week without the befit of modern hygiene, relying on white linen instead, left her seriously unhappy with herself!

I Like Lucy . She's a bit of a blue stocking but she's fun, very whacky and makes her programmes interesting and I like her hair, even if Jingle's granny had a do like it. Yeh for Lucy I say wink
