Awful murders near Annecy in the French Alps

We have often been in this area on holidays and I find it absolutely horrific to imagine this dreadful incident. It is a beautiful, peaceful region with little crime and now this slaughter of a family has desecrated that. What is the world coming to? Those two little girls, one now in a medically induced coma, the other terrified out of her 4 year old wits, will be damaged for life.

It must be near Greatnan too - she will be distressed I know.

Are you sure about that Greatnan? I read on the Guardian website about lack of coverage in the French press, but I don't think it is true. It seemed to be on every French national front page that I looked at yesterday, including the local French paper here on the Spanish border. Of course, the speculation isn't at the same level as the UK press and than heavens for that.

I will have to have another look, Mamie - I have been busy entertaining Anno so I have not been keeping an eye on the French papers.
