As time is galloping on could you please add your name to the thread if you are coming to gally's on the 3rd of October. Then we can talk about the catering once we have established who is coming. smile

annodomini Fri 28-Sept-12 16:55:36

em, good to see you back with us. I've been wondering how things were with you - clearly not too good which I'm sorry to hear. Hope to see you in touch again very soon. (yes, I have changed my name since you were last here). flowers

soop Fri 28-Sept-12 17:05:27

I had a quick squiz at Google map this evening glass and it looks as though it'll take around 3 hours to Edinburgh? I've never driven there before! Hope you have gally's postcode so I can put it into the sat-nav! Is anyone else coming in the car with us?

Marelli Fri 28-Sept-12 20:33:37

Well, that's me back now from my holiday! 'Lurker' and I aren't sure what to bring - are there any gaps showing in the 'provisions'? smile

glassortwo Fri 28-Sept-12 21:02:29

Marelli welcome back from your holidays, hope you enjoyed it sunshine

moomin there will be three of us with gillieB I am waiting for gillyBob to get in touch to see if she is still coming. So 3 or 4 of us. I will ask Gally for the postcode, are you bringing your sat nav mine as kaput takes you the wrong way, or we might get to gallys for Christmas grin

moomin Fri 28-Sept-12 21:14:21

glass it might be a good idea to get a Google route or AA route online and print off? So far the sat nav has behaved itself! But it's probably best to be prepared for the worst (not that I'm a pessimist at all wink)

glassortwo Fri 28-Sept-12 21:16:01

moomin I was going to do that as a back up. We will find it grin

moomin Fri 28-Sept-12 21:24:25

Brilliant grin - will defo bring the sat nav anyway - we'll have all bases covered. Let me know sometime what time is best to meet smile

glassortwo Fri 28-Sept-12 21:29:43

Okey dokey grin

Elegran Fri 28-Sept-12 22:59:09

I had a look on Google maps at streetview level, which gave me an idea of what the route looked like from the station to Gally's. That is all I need. It is only the last bit, but if you knew what turns to look out for once you hit Aberdour it might help. Aberdour is not all that big (unless it has expanded a lot since I was last there) dificult to get too lost in it.

We shall leave Kintyre at eight sharp. Three and a half hours to Glasgow and an extra hour to Edinburgh and Gally's pad [providing I do the map reading wink]...so, if we stop for half a dozen wees and a visit to M&S, I should arrive wearing an enormous grin round about 1-ish.

GillieB Sat 29-Sept-12 18:50:28

Getting so excited about this all - glass - I am very good at map reading - we never have a sat nav when we go away and I have taken us all round America and France without getting lost (much!). My DH even tells people I am good at map reading.

grannyactivist Sun 30-Sept-12 09:09:34

I'm flying up with Grannylin on the Tuesday, so will probably pick up a bottle of wine at the airport. Sooooo excited I feel like a schoolgirl looking forward to an outing. grin

soop Sun 30-Sept-12 11:45:52

GillieB and grannyact...I can't stop giggling at the prospect of meeting up at Gally's. Mind you, I am possibly a trifle potty...but harmless with it. wink

glassortwo Sun 30-Sept-12 15:51:16

soop I cant speak for the rest, but I am slightly potty to so we will keep each other company. wink

soop Sun 30-Sept-12 16:02:18

We've a date, glass...looking forward to meeting you. smile

glassortwo Sun 30-Sept-12 16:07:21

soop I am so excited grin

soop Sun 30-Sept-12 16:12:33

A bit like anticipating a forthcoming primary school outing. Yes, I remember them well. hmm The sort where you eat the entire contents of the lunch box before the bus sets off for the treat. grin

Marelli Sun 30-Sept-12 16:17:41

It's going to be so good!!! I'm so excited! Yatter, yatter, yatter! It's going to be like a henhouse at Gally's! grin

soop Sun 30-Sept-12 16:21:08

Marelli...and I shall get to hug you again...grin

glassortwo Sun 30-Sept-12 16:22:24

Good description marelli grin

Marelli Sun 30-Sept-12 16:25:20

We'll all have to have a great big group hug! grin

soop Sun 30-Sept-12 16:30:38

Are we to wear wee badges? I get a trifle muddled [name-wise] when meeting lots of people for the first time. As I won't have a hearing aid by Wed, chances are that I shall miss some of the background conversation. If I appear rude and stand-offish, I apologise in advance. blush
