"Today I've been is full" So I have started What I did Today, as I have something to be a granny bore with.

Today I became a gran for real. DD had my 1st GC 8 days after due date. Several days of twinges and a bad night.
DD rang me at 12;15 today.Just seen midwife at clinic, 3cm and waiting for the taxi to hospital. 5pm I had a phone call, baby had arrived at at 3:30 pm. That is 3 to 10cm in 3hrs! Noah Alexander ***. 6lb 11ozs. Forceps as baby was tiring but amazingly quick DD and SIL surprised by the speed. DD tired and sore but says she is totally in love. I am visiting tomorrow 60 miles away. What a day smile smile smile smile

I put on my duvet coat and mittens for the first time since March to walk the dog. Then spent the afternoon rehearsing the choral bits of Messiah with about 100 other warblers - performance tomorrow night - absolutely exhausted now so going to gargle with honey, vinegar and warm water then get into my jim jams for this lovely long night. Night all xx

My winter duvet is going on on Monday when the bed gets changed!
I spent today reading files and crocheting another beanie!

My dd reckons I ought to cut down on work and I think I agree. I'm working 4 days this week! Think I'll cut down to 3!

It's not the tribunals themselves that stress me, but all the reading before!

Has such a lovely day. I've posted some birthday photos of my little grandaughters and their amazing birthday cakes on my profile. They had a ball and went to bed tired and happy smile

glassortwo Sat 27-Oct-12 20:44:07

jeni I think the travel must be stressful especially when we go into the winter when you are sent further afield, start a new cottage industry with your beanies.

jeni Sat 27-Oct-12 20:46:18

Don't mind the travel as I always have a taxi.

glassortwo Sat 27-Oct-12 20:47:46

when I have just had a peek the girls are gorgeous and you would never think they had been so premature. I love the cake.

Marelli Sat 27-Oct-12 20:49:56

What lovely wee girls, when! And what a cake!!! smile

So sorry to put/hide this in here, bumped into another person that I hadn't seen for ages, usual chit chat, and then she asked after "the children" gave her an up-date on DS1 and the two DG's, then asked " and what about Jack, what's he up to these days?"

I don't know which of us felt the most awkward.

Strange event all round, as for the past week or so I have been having very intense "Jack Dreams". They seem to come & go, sometimes they are almost comforting, at other times rather distressing.

Not much more to say, really, no doubt give me 10 minutes and I'll be in "Lil's Bar", posting a load of nonsense as usual!

Please, no flowers and there really is no need to reply, just like to sort of offload from time to time.

Many thanks,
R.

We hear you R, so on with some chat x

Just about to open a bottle of wine. It's been a busy day. As my daughter said earlier - 'when those babies have had their bottles and settled down in their cots, I will be having MY bottle! grin

Anne58 Sat 27-Oct-12 21:18:59

Wine all round, when!

Although I have just done something that I don't usually do, I think I may have been a tad contraversial or even challenging on another thread.

Will nip down to the kitchen to top up my glass and see what lands in the bunker!

Ana Sat 27-Oct-12 21:23:23

Not to worry, phoenix - sometimes you just have to say what you feel! wink (I'll be in that bunker with you...)

Crimson, Shutter Island, have I missed a good film on TV? I read the book ages ago and loved it!
About to have a glass of the Sangria my daughter brought us backk from Spain, but have found it too strong to drink as it is, I put lemonade with it, she reckons I`m ruining it!
