No, this is not about bereavement, but perhaps a similar feeling of "Was it something I/we said?" I too have tried to pm a GNetter only to be told that is not a valid nickname, so susiecb and littlenellie why did you go?
Of course it is your prerogative and I don't mean to be nosey, but it is sad, especially when you suspect there might be trouble at home and can no longer send support. So if either of you is out there under a different name - I wish you well and still hope it wasn't something we said flowers

Yes, I agree Bags. She knows where we are. If she needs us she only has to say...

soop Thu 18-Oct-12 12:37:51

YIPEEEEE! Just rec text from our Nel. New number. She's fine and looking forward to a possible new job. I told her that she's missed. She couldn't handle the ongoing disagreements on GN. Told her that to many of us, she's special. smile

annodomini Thu 18-Oct-12 12:40:59

Please tell her that there are still lots of threads that are non-confrontational and that she's going to miss the Halloween party. Wish her luck for the job too.

jeni Thu 18-Oct-12 12:42:53

Oh good! Give her my love!

Notsogrand Thu 18-Oct-12 12:44:56

Good to hear that she's been back in touch soop, good wishes to Nel from me too. smile

Ana Thu 18-Oct-12 12:49:10

That is very good news! smile It's not the same here without nellie.

whenim64 Thu 18-Oct-12 13:13:26

Thank GOODNESS for that! Glad she is ok xx

glassortwo Thu 18-Oct-12 13:44:06

Thank heavens soop I can stop worrying now. smile

Grannyeggs Thu 18-Oct-12 13:48:54

Glad she's ok soop, and wish her good luck for the new job.

merlotgran Thu 18-Oct-12 14:05:21

Poor Nellie. Ongoing disagreements might be upsetting for some who don't pitch in but read the threads all the same. Glad she's OK.

jeni Thu 18-Oct-12 14:09:01

We've still lost jingle

Grannyeggs Thu 18-Oct-12 14:19:18

When and why did she go ? I thought she was still around last week.

Bags Thu 18-Oct-12 15:46:16

Jings often goes awol and then comes back when it suits her. Why worry?

Marelli Thu 18-Oct-12 15:54:19

Soop, thanks so much for telling us about Nellie! Was really concerned about her - isn't it great that she's hopeful about a new job? Tell her again that we're all rooting for her and that she'll soon be back to have a blether with us? And yes, as Bags commented, jingl does go off for a while occasionally, and it's always lovely to see her return. smile

soop Thu 18-Oct-12 18:20:37

Mr soop handed me phone with new text from Nellie. She thanks all those who have asked after her. She has asked for the email addresses of anyone who would like to keep in touch with her. I have two addresses at the mo. Will pass others on tomorrow. Must log off right now but will be back late Fri morning. grin

I too am in touch with Nellie and she hopes to join us for an Autumn lunch in East Anglia next month smile

Greatnan Thu 18-Oct-12 20:35:34

Hooray! That is the best news, soop. Thank you so much for finding nellie for us.flowers

I think Charlotta has decided to leave us.

grrrranny Thu 18-Oct-12 21:04:39

Glad to hear she has been in touch. If East Anglia meet isn't too far north, I would very much like to meet her. I hope she may be able to join us on GN again even if she wants to change her name.

numberplease Thu 18-Oct-12 21:12:16

MaggieP, where is your lunch going to be at? I`d like to join you if it was possible.

merlotgran Thu 18-Oct-12 21:26:06

Where are you, number? Last time we met up in Ely but we can always go somewhere else.

numberplease Thu 18-Oct-12 21:51:01

I`m in Boston, Lincs. After my jaunt to Birmingham last week, Ely`s a bit far for me so soon. I wouldn`t expect you to change your plans just for me, so will regretfully forego it this time.

MaggieP Thu 18-Oct-12 22:06:17

We aren't meeting until mid November earliest so anyone welcome, nothing fixed as too soon.
Any suggestions? As merlotgran says It doesn't have to be Ely, any other ideas?

merlotgran Thu 18-Oct-12 22:49:01

Somewhere in the Wisbech area is nearer to Boston and not too far from Ely

Oldgreymare Thu 18-Oct-12 23:18:58

Good to hear that Nellie is well, I particularly enjoyed her 'Matron' column! I am right aren't I (it's getting late).
Jingleabout time you joined in again smile
