Yes, I saw it, too. This link doesn't work unfortunately gracesmum but it was about grandmothers' role in extending life spans as humans evolved, by helping with feeding their grandchildren (there's a lot more in the article)

Yes that has long been recognized by amongst others anthropologists, it is nothing new. Women generally are seen as the main nurturers within the family group and it's survival is almost entirely down to her.
