I hate Bruce Forsythe:there, I've said it. I had to go out Saturday night so I had to record "strictly" replaying it today I did my usual and skipped the stupid/boring bits and then realised I could skip through all his stupid jokes and embarrassing bits, ie. getting people's names wrong and not being able to read the auto que.

Smoluski Mon 12-Nov-12 13:57:05

Whoopee thought it was me being a grumpy old fart, and becoming much less tolerant of people and situations, the things I don't want to do far outweigh the things that I do...I don't have a problem with any one in particular..just as long as they leave me alone and don't invade my space.Jeremy Vine makes my flesh crawl,he is so unfunny..to me anyway.

Well if we are on to women now, VB has to be right up there for me, Posh Spice? no just Miserable Old Spice! That face has just gone on for too long now it's soooo boring, and why are the worries of the world etched on it, handsome and seemingly devoted husband, even if he does have writing all over his body, and yes I now there was a hiccup in the marriage a few years ago, but it does seem back on track now. 4 lovely children, including the very cute new baby girl, a successful business, shed loads of money. Smile woman and then get out of those crippling shoes, think of your bunions! Look at what smiling has done for Kate Middleton and Cheryl Cole. I've just had a thought as to why she might look a bit miserable lately, it seems that Gordon Ramsay spends a lot of time with them, I'll add him to my list of horrible men. Oh and here's another miserable face, Tiger Woods, can't stand him, he looked miserable before his long suffering ex-wife set about his car with a golf club, no charisma, chases anything that looks blonde and vacuous, oh and he plays golf, the most boring game in the world, I know this because my husband plays it too! Also can't stand all those people who have carved a career out of doing nothing in particular, Kim Kardashian, please go away! Ditto the children of the rich and famous, say Kelly Osbourne famous for riding on their parents' coat tail's and nothing else. Loads of politicians of course, it's probably easier to name the one or two that I find acceptable. Of late that ghastly Andrew Mitchell of Plebgate would be a front runner for the one of the most neauseating. I would also add all career politicians who have done the pre requisite PPE degree at Oxbridge, become a researcher and finally got a safe seat and have no experience of the real world whatsoever they are so unrepresentative and don't get me started on the expenses, which never seems to have gone away. Can we add an institution to the hate list? Mine would be the European Parliament, so undemocratic for trying to make the whole of Europe buy into a political dream that has clearly failed.

Don't like any of those women in shampoo adds swinging their hair about or those women giggling like little girls with a dob of cream on their noses and their hands over their mouths and their toes turned in (how does that link to paedophilia I wonder)?

Nigella

Plus most of those mentioned above

Plus my new next door neighbours, based on nothing, and I expect that to go before long.

It might be because he wears a beanie and keeps on grinning and chat.

So yes, Grumpy Old Cow!

annodomini Mon 12-Nov-12 10:11:37

Oh, I thought they might have quietly shelved him! grin

jO5 Mon 12-Nov-12 10:09:38

They did say he would have a little rest halfway through.

annodomini Mon 12-Nov-12 10:05:56

Where was Brucie on Saturday night when Tess and Claudia did the business? His absence was not explained, or did I miss something?

Greatnan Mon 12-Nov-12 09:32:33

I like Matthew Wright, Bradley Walsh, Sean Lock, David Attenborough, Richard Dawkins, Rachel Gilbert (nee Riley), the Queen, Princesse Anne, Susie Dent, Stacey Solomon............and Carole Thatcher.

I don't like Carole Vorderman, Jane McDonald (Tory), most of the women on Loose Women, Anne Widdecombe, people who claim to have a 'zany' sense of humour (why do they need to tell people?) and, obviously, Margaret Thatcher.

Grannyeggs Mon 12-Nov-12 09:19:51

I admire Brucie for carrying on (and on and on and on..) for so long. But I agree with most of the others Dorset. I like loads of other people in the public eye, but just can't come up with their names right now.hmm

absentgrana Mon 12-Nov-12 09:12:21

I didn't realise that Bruce Forsythe is still alive. I thought he must have died years ago. Perhaps he is dead and has been stuffed.

annodomini Mon 12-Nov-12 09:08:42

dorset - could you tell us who you do like? Just curious. hmm

dorsetpennt Mon 12-Nov-12 09:05:51

I've never liked Bruce Forsyth, weird looking cove as my GF used to say. Also can't stand: Stephen Fry[too much exposure],Jonathan Ross, Alan Sugar,Simon Cowell,Graham Norton,Noel Edmunds, Jeremy Vile, Paul McCartney [ yes I know, but his wig!!!],the list goes on. None us us have mentioned women we can't stand so 'ere goes: Anne Robinson, Mary Portas, Tessa whatsaname with Bruce on that stupid Strictly programme, Denise Van Outen, Vanessa Phelps [is that right?] or is it Feltz.

Barrow Mon 12-Nov-12 08:52:24

Have never liked Bruce Forsyth but also dislike, Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton. Graham Norton used to be quite good but then got too full of himself. Why do we always see the same faces on TV I am sure there are lots of talented people who would welcome the opportunity. Its time Bruce retired and gave someone else a chance

PRINTMISS Mon 12-Nov-12 08:44:27

I could not believe Rod Stewart on RBL on Saturday evening. What a farce that was, and seemed to me to have nothing to do with what I always think of as a quiet reflection on the way the world is today.
I do quite like Bruce, although at times I could gladly throw something at the t.v. when he makes those really silly 'jokes' but then if he did not do that then he would not be 'Brucie'. (ouch!)

Nelliemoser Sun 11-Nov-12 22:52:48

*tanglerose"
Do you mean that people who are getting older get more irritating,or that as we get older we find others more irritating? confused or both! grin

Which ever way round it is I suspect that we are just more prepared to say what we think and dont care!

tanglerose Sun 11-Nov-12 22:29:10

is it just getting a touch older that makes so many people very annoying or was it ever thus and only more noticable now. Think could enjoy getting into the swing of not having to bother with things/people I really don't care about!hmm

Ella46 Sun 11-Nov-12 22:12:04

And I thought I was the only grumpy old git who can't stand anybody! grin

BAnanas Sun 11-Nov-12 22:09:24

Ooops major gaff, apologies, but was put off by the elderly warbler's copious sobbing to understand who was playing who!

annodomini Sun 11-Nov-12 21:54:04

BAnanas, I doubt if Scotland could beat Barcelona; but Celtic did! grin

jeni Sun 11-Nov-12 21:48:41

Hated him on the RBLs remembrance service. He didn't even get the words right. It's for auld langs syne. Not for the sake of. That's tautology. I might have the scots spelling wrong but!
