Grace is a bit miffed that she has had to budge up, but recognises that her mum has been a bad, bad, bad granny and will not be allowed out until the nice ladies at Gransnet Towers say so. Her mum is sad that her scintillating exchange of views with another lady has been curtailed - surely not censoredshock- and the thread she started has apparently disappeared like a snowflake on a river - a moment there, then gone for eversad
It seems a shame that smutty schoolboy lavatorial humour and crude innuendo are deemed acceptable despite leainge a bad taste on an otherwise friendly, companionable and intelligent site. She has said she will apologise to any parties named (or not) so, apart from hanging her head in shame, tail firmly between the legs and ears drooping, what more can she do? She will probably have many more hours in the day now to take Grace for nice walkies instead of sitting at that machine on the desk. [woof] emoticon.

Grace says her mum meant to say "leaving a bad taste" but was overcome by emotion-induced dyslexia. Hey, what's new.

Crikey gracesmum what did you do?? I won't sleep tonight wondering! smile

Greatnan Sat 24-Nov-12 01:59:59

Come out of that doghouse, Gracesmum - I am sure whatever you think you have done cannot be important. flowers

glassortwo Sat 24-Nov-12 07:12:50

grace tell your Mum to come out of the doghouse your a bit squashed and whatever she thinks she has done has disappeared along with the thread grin grin, of course if your enjoying the cuddle and the excuse for extra walkies shhhh wink

Ariadne Sat 24-Nov-12 07:38:19

Oh my goodness, gracesmum what did you do? I was on GN quite a bit yesterday and didn't notice anything. sunshine

Nanadog Sat 24-Nov-12 08:06:31

gracesmum come out of your doghouse, tail wagging and ears alert. I think you are a very good watchdog and there are extra treats in your doggy bowl.
Go to it Fido! grin wink shock wood woof

Nanadog Sat 24-Nov-12 08:07:09

Sorry that should be 2x woofs.

Barrow Sat 24-Nov-12 08:54:59

I agree with the others gracesmum come out of the doghouse and join in with the rest of us.

Whilst I can see why some moderating is necessary by GNHQ, this is not a site used by children - we are all adults and (usually) act as such. Surely we can be trusted to deal with t***ls.

If and when a thread becomes abusive is the time for GNHQ to step in.

That must feel so bad Gracesmum. sad

Give it a few days. You will start to feel better and then you could come back.

It's only a forum. (perhaps a forum with a slightly overinflated sense of its own importance, but hey!)

Learnergran Sat 24-Nov-12 09:50:14

If you objected to a certain thread I saw and didn't care for myself, and therefore went back to my mountain of paperwork, don't give it another thought gracesmum, leave Grace's chocdrops alone and come out and have a few chocolate buttons of your own smile.
If one the other hand it was nothing to do with that, sorry I've barged in, ignore me grin

annodomini Sat 24-Nov-12 09:58:03

Prick up your ears, gracesmum and wag that drooping tail. A breath of fresh air (very fresh here) with Grace will do you both the world of good. Then come back here and keep us all in order. wink Oh and if you must quote Tam o' Shanter...

Movedalot Sat 24-Nov-12 10:00:25

I haven't been on GN for weeks apart from the diet thread so have no idea what you are supposed to have done but having met you I am on your side whatever it was as I don't believe you would have done anything to hurt anyone. It does seem sometimes that some people try to score points but you are not among them as far as I have seen.

Come back and ignore the ...................! smile

Greatnan Sat 24-Nov-12 10:01:22

See, Gracesmum, you have jingle's permission to come back in a few days! grin You pointed out the elephant in the room and I am sure many of us were grateful.

Nelliemoser Sat 24-Nov-12 10:08:21

Oh dear! gracesmum I dont know what you said either.
Get back up on the forum horse quickly before you lose your nerve.

I think we could all have made what might be described as errors of judgement and posted stuff we later see as harsh or offensive.
We would all miss your lovely posts. I am sure it will all be quickly forgotten. flowers

jO5 Sat 24-Nov-12 10:12:17

Having now read another thread and it dawning on me what this is all about, I take back my comment about Gransnet having an over-inflated sense of its own importance.

In this instance.

jO5 Sat 24-Nov-12 10:13:46

And to be absolutely honest, I don't really mind anyone wishes to spend time in a dog house. I just need to spend some time in my kitchen. hmm

jO5 Sat 24-Nov-12 10:14:05

missed out an 'if'

Greatnan Sat 24-Nov-12 10:15:05

A forum cannot have any sense at all - it is an inanimate object. If you want to say that some members have an over-inflated sense of their own importance, why not say it? I loathe these sly digs and thought we had got beyond them.

jO5 Sat 24-Nov-12 10:17:06

I WASN'T TALKING ABOUT MEMBERS! I WAS TALKING ABOUT HQ!!!

hmm grin

jO5 Sat 24-Nov-12 10:19:00

Yes. I can see how you might have got that wrong! hmm (to me)

grin

jO5 Sat 24-Nov-12 10:20:02

Oh! It's all a load of cobblers!!!!

I'm getting back to RL

Nanadog Sat 24-Nov-12 10:33:30

Wasn't aware that gracesmum had made any errors of judgement or posted anything harsh or offensive nelliem I read the thread before it was deleted and I stand by every word she said on it. It does seem a shame that 'smutty schoolboy lavatorial humour and crude innuendo' are deemed worse than shouting 'halo'.
hmm

Elegran Sat 24-Nov-12 10:38:42

I read that thread too. I don't remember exactly what Gracesmum said, but I do remember agreeing with her. I would not stop in the street to join in a conversation like that thread. It is not being prim, pedantic or elitist to put a stop to it.

annodomini Sat 24-Nov-12 10:39:43

I think policies have been tightened since last year when nobody rebuked us for labelling a certain poster as a t...l.
